WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

We are looking for an experienced Process Safety Engineer to join our EHS Team in Dublin. Working in close cooperation with the EHS Manager and the Corporate EHS function, the Process Safety Engineer will ensure systems and practices are developed and maintained in EHS to provide an Injury Free Workplace with safe systems, practices, procedures, plant & equipment and processes.

YOUR ROLE
  • Develop and lead the Process-Safety Management System for an Upper Tier Seveso site.
  • Conduct significant modification assessments, submissions and evaluation processes under the COMAH Regulations.
  • Update and maintain the site's Safety Report and the Explosion Protection Document.
  • Assist in the maintenance of the site's Emergency Response Team and Emergency Response Plan as an Upper Tier Seveso Site.
  • Coordinate and lead Process Safety Risk Assessment activities including HazOps, etc.
  • Coordinate and lead task and equipment related health and safety risk assessments as part of the on-going risk assessment plan for the site.
  • Assist in ensuring that safety systems of work are employed in the plant including the permit to work system.
  • Assess the implications of plant, process and system changes as part of the management of change process.
  • Provide EHS support to the Capex process.
  • Perform periodic hazard area classification reviews under ATEX and review of ATEX inspections.
  • Develop and maintain the Basis of Safety for elements of a pharma plant; which includes reactive chemistry.
  • Share and collaborate with the other Seveso sites in the European Network.
  • Assist with other EHS related tasks such as delivery of training, updating of documentation in a GMP environment, assist with Regulatory Agency Inspections and communications etc.
  • Assist in the execution of the Internal Audit Schedule.
  • Assist in the maintenance of the existing Management Systems e.g. ISO14001 and with the implementation of ISO 45001.
  • Represent EHS at Departmental and Cross Functional Meetings.
  • Ensure that EHS roles and responsibilities are complied with as per the requirements of the site Safety Statement
  • Deputise for the EHS Manager as required.


YOUR BACKGROUND
  • Primary Degree in Science or Engineering e.g. Chemical / Mechanical Engineering / Environmental and / or Health and Safety.
  • Formal qualification in Process Safety is desirable but not mandatory. Full training will be provided.
  • Candidate must have an interest in pursuing a career in Process Safety.
  • 3-5 years' experience working in a Process Safety role is desirable, preferably within a manufacturing environment or 10+ years in an EHS role in a Pharma / Manufacturing Environment
  • Previous experience of a COMAH site, IPPC/IED Licence and GMP Manufacturing is desirable.
  • Highly organised and capable of working on own initiative.
  • Good interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate and interact across all levels within the organisation.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Strong analytical and engineering skills.
  • Good influential skills.
  • Excellent report compiling and writing skills.
  • Mindset of continuous improvement
