Réalta Technologies is seeking an Automation Project Manager with 5+ years' experience to join our team supporting a leading pharmaceutical manufacturing facility in Dublin.

This role will be responsible for coordinating and delivering a portfolio of small to medium-sized automation projects across a live GMP manufacturing environment. The successful candidate will combine strong project management skills with a good technical understanding of industrial automation and the ability to engage effectively with internal stakeholders, vendors and cross-functional teams.

Job Responsibilities

  • Manage the delivery of automation projects from initiation through to completion, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time and within budget.
  • Coordinate project activities with Engineering, Operations, Maintenance, Validation and Quality teams.
  • Manage third-party vendors and contractors, ensuring work is completed to the required standards and project timelines.
  • Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, resource plans and progress reports.
  • Support the planning and execution of automation system upgrades, equipment modifications and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Identify and manage project risks, issues and mitigation plans throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Facilitate project meetings, provide regular stakeholder updates and communicate project status effectively.
  • Ensure all project activities comply with GMP requirements, site procedures and engineering standards.
  • Support commissioning, qualification and handover activities where required.
  • Maintain accurate project documentation, including scope, change controls, action logs and project close-out reports.

Job Requirements

  • 5+ years' experience delivering engineering or automation projects within the pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry.
  • Demonstrated experience managing small to medium-sized capital or operational projects, including budgets, schedules and vendor management.
  • Good understanding of industrial automation systems and control technologies, with exposure to PLC-based manufacturing systems considered highly desirable.
  • Strong organisational and project coordination skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work effectively across multidisciplinary teams.
  • Experience working within GMP-regulated manufacturing environments.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to delivering project objectives.
  • A relevant degree in Engineering, Automation, Project Management or a related technical discipline would be advantageous.
