Research Engineer, UCD School of Computer Science, Temporary 30 months

Applications are invited for a temporary post of a Research Engineer within the School of Computer Science.

TRACE (Technological Revolution towards an Agri-food Circular Economy) is a cross-border innovation project supporting the modernisation of agri-food supply chains through the adoption of digital technologies. The project works with SMEs, industry partners, researchers and other stakeholders to improve efficiency, transparency and sustainability across agri-food and seafood sectors.

We are seeking a Research Engineer to design and implement a data infrastructure for a food spoilage monitoring and prediction project. The role will focus on data pipelines, cloud-based storage, reproducible software workflows, CI/CD, data preprocessing and a lightweight dashboard for data exploration and monitoring.

This position is funded by Special EU Programmes Body PEACEPLUS innovation challenge (www.seupb.eu/peaceplus) on the Technological Revolution towards a Agri-food Circular Economy (TRACE) project.

The successful candidate will work in an interdisciplinary research environment, collaborating with technical teams, researchers, SMEs, industry partners and project stakeholders to develop a robust platform that supports analytics, predictive modelling and real-time decision support.

Fixed Salary: €52,000 per annum
