Senior Medical Scientist - Blood Transfusion

Purpose of the Role:

The purpose of this post is to Role is to work in conjunction with the Chief Medical Scientist to provide a safe, efficient, quality Blood Transfusion service to satisfy the needs and requirements of service users.

Essential Criteria:

Candidates must, on the latest date for receiving completed application forms for the post, possess:-
• (a) The Bachelor in Science (Applied Science) Honours degree (Biomedical option) from the Technological University Dublin, Kevin Street; or University College Cork or Galway Mayo Institute of Technology

or
• (b) The Diploma in Medical Laboratory Sciences of the Dublin Institute of Technology, Kevin Street or the Cork Institute of Technology awarded prior to 1994

or
• A recognized qualification at least equivalent to (a) or (b) above

and
• A post graduate degree in the field of Medical Laboratory Science

and
• Possess or be eligible for membership of the Academy of Clinical Science and Laboratory Medicine (ACSLM)

and
• Be registered or with CORU OR Be currently registered with HCPC as a Biomedical Scientist

and
• Possess four years' experience in a medical laboratory since qualifying as a Medical Scientist
