We have an exciting opportunity for a qualified actuary to join the Aviva Life & Pensions Ireland (ALPI) Risk team as a Financial Risk Actuary. This role offers the opportunity to gain broad exposure across the business while providing independent oversight, challenge, and support on a wide range of life insurance risks. You'll play a key role in ensuring risks are managed effectively, supporting strong customer outcomes and sustainable business performance.

The expected pay range for this role will fall between €100,000 and €109,000 and salary offered will commensurate with candidate's level of skills and experience.

Duties & Responsibilities
- Review and provide independent challenge on life insurance risks including mortality, longevity, morbidity, persistency and expense risks.
- Assess and challenge the data, assumptions and modelling approaches underpinning insurance risk management and reporting.
- Prepare and contribute to risk reporting for senior management, Board and Risk Committee forums, with a focus on life insurance risk exposures.
- Support the annual Own Risk & Solvency Assessment (ORSA), Risk Appetite Framework updates, and provide risk oversight on key business projects.
- Represent the Risk Function at governance forums and provide technical expertise and challenge across risk reviews, claims committees and other risk governance activities.
Skills & Experience
- Qualified actuary with significant actuarial experience within the life insurance industry.
- Strong experience in life insurance product pricing, product development, financial management and/or financial reporting.
- Good understanding of life insurance prudential and reporting frameworks, including Solvency II and IFRS requirements.
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills with the ability to provide constructive challenge at all levels.
- Knowledge of life and pensions products, including unit-linked, with-profits and protection products; experience of reinsurance arrangements would be beneficial.
