KITCHEN ASSISTANT - CORK

As a Kitchen Assistant, you're a key part of the team that keeps everything ticking - from prepping veg and supporting the chefs to making sure our kitchen is spotless and safe. You don't need tons of experience - just a great attitude, a love for food, and a strong work ethic.

Pay: €14.15 per hour

What You'll Be Doing

1. Versatile Team Player - Help the kitchen get set up for the day, support with prep, and jump in wherever needed.
2. Hygiene Hero - Follow our cleaning checklists and make sure every surface, piece of kit and corner of the kitchen is spotless.
3. Process Perfection - Stick to our prep procedures and kitchen SOPs, making sure everything is efficient and running smoothly.
4. Food Safety - Follow food safety rules to the letter, ensuring we meet the highest hygiene and allergen safety standards.
5. Health & Safety - Support your GM in keeping the kitchen a safe, well-run space.
6. All Hands On Deck - You're ready to help the wider team during busy times, especially the lunch rush.

Kitchen Assistant (Dishwashing Focus)

As a Kitchen Assistant (Kitchen Porter) at Sprout, you'll play a vital role in keeping our kitchen running smoothly and safely.
This role is primarily focused on dishwashing and kitchen cleaning, making sure chefs and the wider team always have clean equipment to work with. You may also support with light prep and general kitchen tasks.

You don't need previous experience - what matters most is a positive attitude, reliability, and pride in keeping things clean and organised.

Reporting to: General Manager
Contract: Part-time
Pay: €14.15 per hour

Availability (Important)

• Weekend availability required, with shifts starting from 7:00am

What You'll Be Doing

Dishwashing & Cleaning (Main Responsibility)

• Wash dishes, utensils, pots, pans, and kitchen equipment efficiently and safely
• Keep the dishwashing area clean, organised, and running smoothly

Hygiene Hero

• Follow daily and weekly cleaning checklists
• Ensure all kitchen surfaces, floors, and equipment meet Sprout's hygiene standards

Kitchen Support

• Help with basic food prep (washing veg, simple tasks) when required
• Support chefs and the wider kitchen team during busy periods

Food Safety & Health & Safety

• Follow food safety, hygiene, and allergen procedures at all times
• Work with the GM to maintain a safe and well-organised kitchen

Team Support

• Jump in where needed, especially during peak service times
