About the Role

As Course Leader, you will provide academic leadership for the Music Business course and support the Head of School in ensuring its successful delivery and ongoing development.

You will be responsible for leading the course, managing teaching staff, maintaining academic quality and standards, and overseeing the delivery of a curriculum that reflects contemporary industry practice.

What You'll Do:
• Lead the delivery and ongoing development of the Music Business course at campus level.
• Recruit, line manage and develop teaching staff, promoting high standards in learning, teaching and assessment.
• Provide academic and pastoral leadership, supporting students throughout their studies.
• Ensure students and staff understand assessment requirements, academic regulations and expectations relating to academic integrity.
• Monitor course performance, student engagement and feedback, implementing actions to support continuous improvement.
• Contribute to curriculum development and enhancement, ensuring course content remains relevant, current and informed by industry practice.
• Champion equality, diversity and inclusion, promoting equitable access, participation and success for all students.
• Lead initiatives that support student engagement, retention, progression and achievement.
• Collaborate with academic and professional services teams to support effective timetabling, assessment, quality assurance and course administration.
• Support recruitment and conversion activities, including open days, applicant interviews and course promotion.
• Act as a key point of escalation for student concerns, complaints, appeals and academic integrity matters.
• Contribute to institutional committees, reporting processes and quality enhancement activities.

What You'll Bring:
• Significant professional experience within the Music industries.
• A degree or equivalent higher education qualification.
• A teaching qualification relevant to Higher Education or a willingness to achieve this within the first two years of employment.
• Experience leading and managing academic teams, including part-time, freelance or associate teaching staff.
• A track record of delivering positive student outcomes and enhancing the student learning experience.
• Experience developing initiatives to improve student engagement, retention and satisfaction.
• Strong understanding of curriculum design, learning and teaching, and quality assurance within Higher Education.
• Experience using data and student feedback to inform decision-making and drive continuous improvement.
• A commitment to inclusive practice and creating opportunities for all students to succeed.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to work effectively with students, colleagues and external partners.
