Portwest designs, manufactures and distributes market leading workwear, safety wear, footwear and PPE. Charles Hughes Ltd distributes Portwest and other premium brands to over 1,200 customers in Ireland. We are a fast growing ambitious company employing over 100 people in Ireland.

WHAT YOUR ROLL WILL BE
- Generate and issue customer sales invoices and credit notes
- Credit control - chasing overdue debt
- Allocate incoming payments and reconcile customer accounts
- Prepare customer statements, aged debtors reports and other credit control documentation
- Process of supplier invoices, matching of POs and delivery dockets
- Monthly Creditors Reconciliation
- Prepare and post monthly payment run
- Bank Reconciliation and posting of bank transactions
- Assist with stocktakes and liaise with both Warehouse and Purchasing in relation to any price or quantity variances from supplier invoices
- Monitor cashflow and maintain accurate financial records
- Fixed Asset Register and Depreciation Journals
- Prepare and post VAT Returns
- Process payroll and maintain payroll records
- Support month end activities including accruals & prepayments
- Balance Sheet Reconciliations
- Monthly/Quarterly/Annual Financial and Management Reporting
- Assist the Financial Controller with finance activities and reporting
WHAT YOU WILL NEED
- Accounting Technician qualification or equivalent accounting qualification
- Minimum 2 years' experience in a finance or accounts environment
- Strong understanding of basic accounting principles and bookkeeping
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
- Experience using accounting software/ERP systems
- Strong organisational and time management skills
- Ability to meet deadlines in a fast paced environment
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
