The AWS Shield team is seeking a driven and talented Software Development Engineer to join our Distributed Denial of Service response team. In this pivotal role, you'll get to work on the front line of incident response, designing and building systems which keep AWS infrastructure and customer workloads safe from even the largest DDoS threats.

Key job responsibilities

We are looking for a software engineer who is technically strong with deep knowledge in cloud services, distributed systems and web services. The ideal candidate takes pride in tackling challenges, excels at working in an agile environment and is excited about delivering a world-class AI-driven analysis platform to detect, diagnose and mitigate large scale DDoS events. You'll collaborate with our exceptional Software and Security Engineers, fostering an environment of innovation and cross-functional synergy. BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

- Experience in professional, non-internship software development, or experience (non-internship) in professional software development

- Experience designing or architecting (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems, or experience in computer architecture

- Experience programming with at least one software programming language, or experience in professional, non-internship software development

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

- Experience with full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations, or experience managing teams

- Experience working in a fast-paced, rapidly changing operations environment

- Experience managing training programs or teams across multiple sites or regions
