Account's Assistant (Fixed Term Contract)- Davies, 150 Harmonstown Rd Dublin 5 D05 K197 County Dublin

Principle Objective

Reporting to the Financial Controller, this role is for a part qualified accountant/accounting technician. The role will suit an ambitious, driven individual looking to develop and progress their career while obtaining wide-ranging experience across the finance function.

Knowledge & Experience

  • At least 2 years' experience in a fast-paced, high-volume accounts role
  • Part Qualified studying (ACA/ACCA/CIMA/CPA) or accounting technician
  • Excellent Microsoft Office skills with the ability to manipulate data & reports
  • Strong organisational and administrative skills
  • Ability to work to tight operating deadlines
  • Ambitious, pro-active with a strong teamwork ethic


Key Responsibilities

  • Support Financial Controller with month end process including preparation of bank reconciliations, management accounts, sales reports and auxiliary reports
  • Assist with the analysis of monthly P&L activity and reconciliation of balance sheet accounts
  • Assist with sales and purchase rebate reconciliations
  • Assist with the HR function within Davies
  • Assist with both internal audit engagements and the annual external audit process and statutory accounts preparation
  • Assist accounts payable, stock control and credit control managers
  • Assist with bad debt and debtor day analysis
  • Participate in various process improvement initiatives and other ad-hoc projects as defined by the business
  • Review and assist with cash office reconciliations

Contract Type

  • 8 months maternity cover
  • Full time
  • Office Hours: Monday to Friday, 08.30 - 17.00
