Research Assistant, UCD School of Medicine, Temporary 24 months
Applications are invited for a temporary post of a Research Assistant within UCD School of Medicine.
The purpose of this post is to support the manufacturing optimisation and evaluation of a next-generation hyperbranched poly(β-amino ester) (HPAE) transfection reagent for efficient, large-scale viral-vector production. Although HPAE reagents show strong performance compared with conventional transfection systems, further work is required to improve polymer quality consistency, reduce post-production waste, and strengthen nanoscale quality control and functional testing. Working within a collaboration between the UCD Charles Institute of Dermatology and Branca Bunús Ltd., the Research Assistant will support laboratory experiments, polymer characterisation, cell-based transfection assays, data analysis, documentation, and day-to-day laboratory operations under the supervision of senior researchers. The post will contribute to reproducible manufacturing workflows, robust quality-control methods, and timely delivery of project outputs.
Salary Range: €34,129 - €44,311 Per Annum
Appointment on the above range will be dependent upon qualifications and experience.
