Purpose of the Role

The purpose of this post is to provide strategic, professional and operational leadership to optometrists and orthoptists across CHI, ensuring provision of a high quality service at all times.

The successful candidate may be required to work across CHI sites

The successful candidate may be required to work across CHI sites and services in line with organisational requirements and the development of the new children's hospital and associated services.

Essential Criteria:
• For Optometrists: Be registered, or eligible for registration as an Optometrist, with the Optical registration Board at Coru.
• For Orthoptists: Hold a BSc(Hons) Orthoptics or other validated qualification equivalent or be registered as an Orthoptist with the Health and Care Professionals Council UK (HCPC)
• For all applicants:

o Have five years full time (or an aggregate of 5 years fulltime) post qualification clinical experience.

o Have the requisite knowledge and ability (including a high standard of suitability, management, leadership and professional ability) for the proper discharge of the duties of the office.
