The INFANT Research Centre was established in 2013 and is dedicated to maternal and child health research. The overarching vision of INFANT is to advance maternal and child health translational research and to place Ireland to the forefront of this field. INFANT is hosted by University College Cork (UCC) and is focused on delivering scientific excellence and impact through a range of activities in academic, translational, and commercial areas. The INFANT team is a diverse group of clinicians and scientists who are supported by selected industry partners, international collaborators and business and regulatory advisors. The Centre is funded by a range of national and international funding agencies, EU, industry, and philanthropy. INFANT has a well-established Clinical Trials Platform which is underpinned by ISO 9001:2015 accredited Quality Management System.
INFANT plays a central role in UCC Futures - Children, one of ten thematic areas within UCC Futures, UCC's ambitious programme of research prioritisation in areas of strategic importance. UCC Futures - Children builds on INFANT's established strengths in child health, development and translational research, while fostering wider interdisciplinary collaboration across disciplines, schools and colleges. The theme is dedicated to advancing research with and for children, supporting the fulfilment of their rights, and improving outcomes across health, education, justice and social policy.
The INFANT Research Centre is now accepting applications for a Senior Postdoctoral Researcher for the Wave project. This is a three-year project funded by the Enterprise Ireland Disruptive Technology and Innovation Fund (DTIF) in which the INFANT Research Centre is partnered with an industry partner, Cergenx Ltd. The aim of the overall project is to develop the Newborn Brain Test (NBT), a novel platform to assess newborn brain activity in infants at birth through an automated AI assessment.
INFANT seeks an experienced clinical physiologist with substantial experience in neonatal EEG recording and analysis to join the dynamic project team. The Clinical Physiologist may be asked to support other EEG projects where relevant and will be expected to have a flexible approach in this regard.

Appointment may be made on the IUA PD2 Salary Scale: €55,399 - €60,250 p.a (pro-rata 0.9 FTE)
Salary placement on appointment will be in accordance with public sector pay policy.
