The Role:
Business Change in Uisce Éireann supports the business to select, prioritise, plan and deliver its portfolio of changed enabled projects and programmes primarily in the non-networks capital investment plan. The Business Change area provides specialist resources to the business in the areas of Portfolio Management, end-to-end Project Management, Change Management including training, business readiness and post go live support and Business Process Analysis, Design & Implementation including Business Analysis. The team provides PMO tools, methods and reporting capabilities, including benefits realisation management.
The Business Process Optimisation team manages the development of business process improvement opportunities, associated initiatives and solutions using our business process optimisation approach (i.e. process analysis, design and implementation). The team assesses the business change impacts for business process improvement initiatives from an end to end business process perspective. The team also ensure the integrity of end to end business processes, ensuring process ownership, driving continuous process improvement with the stakeholders. The team also works with the business to collate and document the business requirements for business process improvement initiatives in line with the agreed project or programme scope. The requirements gathering follows standard industry best practice, and are validated and signed off by the business. The team engages with the Change and Business Readiness team and the end users to ensure our new ways of working (processes) are understood. The team provides Blueworks training and access permissions for users to the business process repository.
Reporting into the Process Analysis Technical Lead, the Business Process Analyst will be responsible for designing and mapping business processes and assessing and defining business requirements for Uisce Eiréann portfolio projects and other initiatives as well as supporting the design and implementation of an integrated solution to deliver the business requirements.

- Support the development of process improvement opportunities, associated initiatives and solutions, using principles of process excellence and related tools
- Co-ordinate and manage the capture and documentation of business processes according to the Uisce Eiréann Process Design Framework
- Support the Business to capture business processes and ensure that these are aligned with the Uisce Eiréann Process Design Framework
- Work closely with the management team to ensure the integrity and effectiveness of Uisce Eiréann business processes
- Provide quality reporting, analysis and audits for developing plans and programs to support process improvements using applicable tools
- Develop an in-depth understanding of Uisce Eiréann business processes, including critical processes, key interfaces, risks to success and best practice for process excellence
- Partner with process owners to understand business process and drive key improvements through process excellence approach
- Support process owners in championing process improvements and establish ownership of action plans at the appropriate point within the organisation
- Support definition and validation of business requirements for improvement projects
- Work with designated process owners and other relevant stakeholders to ensure that processes comply with statutory obligations (e.g. legislative, environmental and audit requirements)
- Provide input to business change assessments from a business process perspective
- Raise risks and issues as appropriate to the Senior Process Technical Lead
General Duties and Responsibilities
- Collaborate with key internal stakeholders across the UÉ business
- Responsible for promoting and delivering health and safety commitments across UÉ and its supply chain, reinforcing positive behaviours and delivering health and safety objectives and requirements to the highest industry standards.
- Support the delivery of the Uisce Éireann Transformation Programme, driving results required within the Directorate and supporting organisation-wide objectives.
- Conducts duties and responsibilities in accordance with Uisce Éireann's Information Security policies, standards, processes and controls to protect the confidentiality, integrity and availability of UÉ business information and delivery of critical services, in accordance with the NIS Directive and any other relevant cybersecurity regulation
- Other duties as required.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience:
- Relevant third level qualification and or accreditation is desirable
- A minimum of 3 years' experience in the water, utilities or similar industries is desirable and or relevant experience
- Ability to develop and maintain effective partnerships with key stakeholders internally and externally
- Proven track record with dealing with complex issues, proactively and in a timely fashion along with the ability to communicate information to others
- Highly motivated individual, working to the highest professional standards and with proven ability to deliver results within a team.
- Strong analytical skills and ability to identify and analyse problems and potential improvements, and propose and implement solutions
- Strong written communication skills, with the ability to produce clear, structured and high-quality outputs such as business process descriptions, business requirements and related documentation
- Demonstrate adaptability and the ability to change focus and direction in line with business strategy and requirements
- Proactively identifying new areas of improvement and using newly gained knowledge and skill on the job
