The Site Engineer provides technical oversight, precise setting out, and daily engineering control on-site. You will work closely with Project Managers, Site Managers, and subcontractors to ensure compliance with architectural drawings, building regulations, and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Setting Out & Surveying: Accurately establish site levels, coordinate gridlines, and map data using modern surveying equipment such as Total Stations, EDM, and GPS.
- Technical Supervision: Interpret engineering designs and architectural drawings, resolving any discrepancies or technical issues encountered during the build.
- Quality Control & Compliance: Perform structural inspections, maintain robust Quality Assurance (QA/QC) records, and oversee Building Control Amendment Regulations (BCAR) documentation.
- Information Management: Manage Requests for Information (RFIs) and translate technical data clearly to subcontractors and site teams.
- Health & Safety: Actively support site management in enforcing strict health, safety, and environmental protocols across the site footprint.
- Record Keeping: Maintain meticulous daily site diaries, material delivery logs, and as-built drawings.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Education: A Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, Construction Management, or a closely related field.
- Experience: Generally requires 2 to 5+ years of hands-on site experience, ideally with a contractor based in Ireland.
- Technical Skills: High proficiency with AutoCAD, digital setting-out tools, and reading engineering specifications.
- Logistics: A full, clean Irish or EU driving licence is standard due to multi-site flexibility or travel requirements.
