Financial Accountant - International Statutory Controllership
Meta
Dublin, Dublin, Ireland
Full Time
Reference: 785024625
Meta is seeking a qualified accountant to join the International Statutory Controllership Team. You will bring deep technical accounting knowledge - IFRS, local GAAP, multi-entity consolidation - and combine it with a experience with or demonstrated interest in applying AI, automation, and modern process design to accounting workflows. Reporting to the EMEA Controller, you will own the financial reporting and statutory obligations for a portfolio of Meta's international entities, contribute to global controllership initiatives, and help reshape how that work gets done. The team is building more efficient, technology-supported processes, and we need someone who can keep pace, contribute ideas, and help us move from manual execution to scalable, technology-enabled delivery. You apply thorough technical analysis to your work and proactively explore new approaches to improve processes. You find satisfaction in getting the technical detail right and in finding a better way to get there. You have experience working in environments where priorities evolve, new tools are adopted regularly, and processes are continuously improved. You take ownership of your entity portfolio while contributing to global initiatives that shape the team's future. You communicate with clarity, bring a willingness to learn new tools and adapt to evolving processes, and are ready to help define what financial reporting looks like in a technology-first organisation.
Responsibilities
Own the end-to-end financial reporting process for your entity portfolio - coordinating statutory financial statement preparation, managing auditor relationships, and ensuring reported figures are complete, accurate, and free from material error
• Engage across both entity-level local GAAP accounting and the consolidated U.S. GAAP reporting processes
• Contribute to global statutory controllership initiatives - driving standards, process improvements, and scalable solutions that benefit the wider international entity portfolio
• Apply technical accounting knowledge to complex, multi-jurisdictional matters, researching and resolving issues with rigour and accuracy
• Identify opportunities to redesign existing reporting workflows through AI tools, automation, and intelligent process design - moving from repetitive manual effort to streamlined, exception-based processes
• Design, document, and implement scalable processes and system solutions that improve accuracy, reduce cycle times, and support the team's evolving operating model
• Maintain robust internal controls and audit-ready documentation; ensure all workflows meet governance, compliance, and SOX requirements
• Communicate complex technical accounting matters clearly and concisely to stakeholders, auditors, and cross-functional partners
• Partner with technology, data, and operations teams to co-develop and test AI solutions tailored to financial reporting needs
• Support regulatory filings and ad-hoc statutory projects across the EMEA entity portfolio
Minimum Qualifications
• Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent), preferably with post-qualification experience in financial reporting or technical accounting
• Technical knowledge of IFRS, including experience applying standards to complex transactions in a multinational or multi-entity environment and experience applying it in a multinational or multi-entity environment
• Experience using AI tools in a professional context - you already use AI assistants, prompt engineering, or automation to improve your own productivity and output quality
• Experience designing or implementing accounting processes, systems, or controls - not just operating within them
• Ability to communicate technical accounting matters clearly, whether in written memos, presentations, or cross-functional discussions
• Diligent, detail-oriented approach with strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple entity deadlines simultaneously
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience adhering to and implementing responsible, ethical AI practices (e.g., risk assessment, bias mitigation, quality and accuracy reviews)
• Demonstrated ability to integrate AI tools to optimize/redesign workflows and drive measurable impact (e.g., efficiency gains, quality improvements)
• Demonstrated ongoing AI skill development (e.g., prompt/context engineering, agent orchestration) and staying current with emerging AI technologies
• Experience with financial reporting across multiple jurisdictions (EMEA preferred)
• Demonstrated ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities, new tools, and evolving ways of working in a fast-paced technology environment
• Experience building or deploying AI/automation solutions in an accounting or finance context (e.g., intelligent journal preparation, automated reconciliations, AI-assisted disclosure drafting)
• A track record of continuous learning - actively developing new skills, staying current with technology trends, and applying new knowledge to improve existing workflows
• Understanding of AI governance principles - responsible use, risk assessment, accuracy validation, and bias awareness - as applied to financial reporting
