Associate Vice President – Technical
Location: Dublin, Ireland (Hybrid – 1 day working from home)
An international aviation investment and asset management platform is seeking an experienced Associate Vice President – Technical to join its Dublin office.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced aircraft leasing technical professional looking to broaden their commercial exposure. The successful candidate will work across a global portfolio of commercial aircraft and engines, supporting investors, airlines and internal stakeholders throughout the full asset lifecycle.
The Opportunity
This is a hands-on technical asset management role with significant exposure to acquisitions, lease transitions, remarketing, technical due diligence and commercial decision-making. You'll work closely with airlines, OEMs, MROs and international investors, providing technical expertise while assessing commercial and contractual risks.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage aircraft and engine deliveries, redeliveries, sales, acquisitions and repossessions.
- Lead technical due diligence, pre-purchase inspections and mid-lease audits.
- Review aircraft technical records and support aircraft remarketing activities.
- Support maintenance reserve reviews and negotiate technical matters with airlines, OEMs and MRO providers.
- Assess technical issues from both an operational and commercial risk perspective.
- Provide technical input during lease agreement negotiations and investment transactions.
- Support aircraft and engine acquisitions, asset management and business development initiatives.
- Maintain strong relationships with airlines, OEMs, appraisers and technical service providers.
- Monitor market developments and industry trends to provide strategic technical advice.
Candidate Profile
We're interested in speaking with professionals who have:
- A minimum of 4 years' aircraft leasing technical experience.
- At least 6 years' experience within commercial aviation (airline, MRO or leasing).
- Strong knowledge of aircraft maintenance records, lease transitions and technical due diligence.
- Experience managing aircraft and/or engine deliveries, returns or repossessions.
- A solid understanding of aircraft lease agreements and the commercial implications of technical decisions.
- Licensed Aircraft Engineer qualifications or an equivalent technical background are highly desirable.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- The ability to work independently within an international environment.
