We are now seeking an experienced and commercially minded Hotel Financial Controller to lead the hotel's finance function and support its continued operational and financial success.
About the Role
Reporting to the General Manager, with a functional relationship to the Group Finance team, the Hotel Financial Controller will be a key member of the hotel's senior leadership team.
You will oversee all financial activities within the property, providing accurate reporting, meaningful commercial insights and strong financial controls. Key Responsibilities
No two days in hotel finance are quite the same. You may begin by reviewing the previous day's revenue and performance, before meeting departmental managers to discuss labour costs and forecasts.
Later, you could be preparing management reports, supporting the General Manager with a commercial decision or strengthening a financial process-all while keeping the hotel's financial objectives firmly in focus.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead the day-to-day operation of the hotel's finance function.
- Prepare accurate monthly management accounts, forecasts and annual budgets.
- Provide financial analysis and commercial insight to support decision-making.
- Monitor revenue, payroll, departmental costs, margins and overall profitability.
- Partner with the General Manager and Heads of Department to improve financial performance.
- Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, income audit, cash controls and banking.
- Maintain strong internal controls and ensure compliance with company policies.
- Manage balance-sheet reconciliations, accruals and prepayments.
- Support payroll administration and ensure the accuracy of payroll-related financial information.
- Monitor capital expenditure and support business cases for hotel investment.
- Coordinate year-end accounts, external audits and statutory reporting requirements.
- Ensure compliance with VAT, tax and other relevant financial obligations.
- Lead, support and develop members of the hotel's finance team.
- Work collaboratively with the Group Finance team and participate in collection-wide projects.

What We Are Looking For
Essential:
- Previous experience in a Financial Controller, Assistant Financial Controller or senior hotel finance position.
- A recognised accounting qualification or significant relevant finance experience.
- Strong knowledge of budgeting, forecasting and management accounting.
- Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
- A sound understanding of financial controls, compliance and audit requirements.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain financial information clearly to non-finance colleagues.
- Confidence working with senior leaders and operational department heads.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial reporting systems.
Desirable:
- Previous experience within the hotel, hospitality or tourism sector.
- Experience working within a multi-property hotel group.
- Knowledge of hotel operating systems and industry performance measures.
- Experience leading or developing a finance team.
