Applications are invited for a Senior Research Coordinator (Education, Public Engagement & Engaged Research Manager) position within the Rinn Artificial Intelligence - Research & Innovation in Data Science and AI funded by Research Ireland, led by Professor Barry O'Sullivan in the School of Computer Science & Information Technology.
This role is part of a national operations team for a national research centre, the Rinn Artificial Intelligence - Research & Innovation in Data Science and AI funded by Research Ireland. The EPE/ER Manager will lead the operational delivery of the Centre's Education, Public Engagement (EPE), Equality, Diversity & Inclusion (EDI), and Engaged Research activities at University College Cork. They will be a key part of the multi-institutional EPR/ER team, and thus teamwork and collaboration will be key. This role will report to the Centre Director, Centre Manager and the relevant Operations Manager.
The post holder will be responsible for delivering site-specific engagement targets aligned with the Centre-wide EPE Strategy, delivering site contributions to the Centre's EDI Action Plan, supporting researchers in embedding engagement within research projects, coordinating local AI literacy and dialogue initiatives, implementing agreed evaluation frameworks, organising and delivering stakeholder-driven needs assessments, supporting and developing participatory activities, supporting the development of the Engaged Research Academy, and acting as the primary liaison between University College Cork and the Centre's central EPE leadership team.
The postholder will operate within and contribute to a centrally coordinated EPE and ER framework and EDI Action Plan, ensuring consistency of standards, evaluation, and strategic alignment across all Centre institutions. The postholder may be required to undertake other duties appropriate to the role as assigned by the Centre Manager, Centre Director, or their nominee.
The postholder will be expected to maintain a flexible approach in supporting the Centre's objectives. The ideal candidate will be proactive, enthusiastic, highly organised and capable of managing a diverse workload, working effectively under pressure and managing multiple competing demands simultaneously.
Please note: Regular travel nationally will be required for this role.

Salary: Admin III Salary Scale (Scale B): €61,471 p.a. - €73,392 p.a.
Salary placement on appointment will be in accordance with public sector pay policy.
