About the Insights and Planning Office:
The Insights and Planning Office (IPO) is responsible for embedding traditional institutional research activities (data governance and analytics) within the organisation and the strategic development, communication and co-ordination of RCSI's approach to institutional performance and metrics. The IPO works collaboratively across the institution to provide strategically relevant information and analysis to enable evidence based senior management decision-making that aligns institutional strategy with opportunities to enhance performance. A core objective and focus of the IPO within the current RCSI strategy "Innovating for a Healthier Future - RCSI Strategy 2023-2027, is to co-ordinate institutional plans to enhance RCSI's international research and teaching reputation, develop international partnerships and deliver multiple milestones to support sustainability, climate health and UNSDG activities in education, research and engagement.
Specific duties of the role:
• Collate research outputs and target audience data to inform and optimise international education, research and societal reputation initiatives
• Manage the end-to-end processes of design, content writing and email marketing of bi-monthly internal bulletin RCSI Collaborate
• Manage the QS Ranking annual data collection and submission process
• Convene and contribute to internal working groups and committees relating to international reputation and strategic communications
• Develop and monitor website content for strategically relevant areas, in addition to supporting the optimisation and continuous improvement of IPO pages on RCSI.com
• Engage with RCSI academic departments, schools and research centres to build custom impact reports and reputation enhancement plans
• Develop and support processes for national and international stakeholder engagement
• Manage a variety of data enhancement projects including ongoing maintenance of the Research Information Management Profile System (RIMS) and CampusTIES CRM
• Support data collection for RCSI Engage and work with relevant academic and professional leads to develop processes for capturing data on community, public and patient stakeholders across the university
• Provide desk-based research, market intelligence and best practice insights to colleagues and senior management on areas of strategic interest
• Contribute to relevant projects and tasks by utilising skills such as creative content development, event management, social media monitoring, publication production and copywriting, web content, data analytics and marketing/advertising
• Liaise with internal departments including the Faculty of Medicine & Health Sciences, Office of Research and Innovation, Communications, Events, Development & Alumni Relations and RCSI Library to develop collaborative and synergistic processes for institutionally relevant projects and objectives
• Support the day-to-day operations of the IPO and provide cover for colleagues where applicable
• Develop and continuously improve management information and reports
• Convene and manage meetings, minutes and follow up
• Perform other related duties as required.
Person Specification:
• The successful candidate will possess the following characteristics:
• Qualified to degree level in a relevant discipline e.g. communications, international engagement, data analytics
• This opportunity is suitable for a recent graduate or more experienced individual with knowledge of the higher education sector
• Possess broad and diverse competencies & skills enabling contribution to relevant projects and tasks involving creative content development, event management, social media and digital marketing, publication production/copywriting, data analytics, international engagement, database administration
• Exceptional written and oral communication skills and a demonstrable ability to translate complex (i.e. medical, scientific) information into engaging and compelling content
• A broad knowledge of the higher education, scientific/clinical research and healthcare landscape
• Demonstrable project management skills with the capacity to organise and complete multiple tasks simultaneously whilst maintaining attention to detail and meeting deadlines
• Proficient in database technologies (Microsoft Dynamics CRM or similar), research information systems and digital marketing platforms (e.g LinkedIn)
• A record of networking, collaboration and engaging with staff at all levels including senior management and executive leadership
• Proven ability to deliver agreed targets and manage budgets
• Ability to deliver results independently while also working collaboratively to manage competing interests and complex problems
• A demonstrated commitment to personal and professional development
