Purpose of the Role:

The CNM2 Specialist (Nephrology) will play a pivotal role in the delivery of safe, effective, evidence-based, and family-centred nursing care within the Nephrology Department. The post holder will work closely with Consultant Nephrologists, the Renal Clinical NurseSpecialist, and the wider multidisciplinary team to improve patient outcomes, enhance the patient and family experience, and promote best practice in paediatric nephrology care.

The post holder will lead and coordinate nursing services in partnership with the Renal Clinical Nurse Specialist, ensuring the delivery of high-quality care across the renal patient pathway. The role will also incorporate the provision of structured education and training for renal nursing staff within the ward setting, as well as education and support for parents and families to promote family-centred care and self-management where appropriate.

The post holder will act as a clinical resource and leader within the service, fostering effective communication and collaboration between nursing, medical, allied health, and community teams to ensure seamless, coordinated care for children and young people with renal conditions.

Essential Criteria:
  • RCN / RN Child Branch with 5 years post graduate experience or RGN with 5 years paediatric experience.
  • Minimum 1 years' experience in nephrology service.
  • Post graduate qualification relevant to nephrology or specialist practice
  • Experience of working with a multidisciplinary team
