The Role:
The Asset Operations function forms the cornerstone of service delivery to customers, protecting the environment and meeting regulatory standards as well as managing the majority of operational expenditure. The Asset Operations function has responsibility for operational and maintenance strategy, policies, planning and standard operating procedures for Water and Wastewater operations both nationally and regionally, ensuring that value for money and customer service is delivered.
The Operations Support Team has responsibility for providing and managing effective business infrastructure and processes at a national level to support operational activities at site level. The Third Party Damage Coordinator reports to the Escalations Management Supervisor.
The Workflow Escalations Team is responsible for the effective management, coordination, and resolution of a wide range of customer and operational escalations across Uisce Éireann. The team plays a key role in protecting customer experience, supporting operational performance, and ensuring regulatory and business obligations are met.
The team manages reactive General Complaints, Customer Support Escalations (CSE), Water Network Programme (WNP) Complaints, Long Running Service Disruption (LRSD) Complaints, and high-profile customer cases. Through effective cross-functional collaboration, the team ensures issues are investigated thoroughly, escalated appropriately, and resolved within agreed service levels while identifying trends, risks, and opportunities for continuous improvement.
The Third-Party Strike Coordinator is a critical role within the Workflow Escalations Team and is responsible for the end-to-end management of incidents involving damage to Uisce Éireann assets caused by third parties. The role safeguards company assets by ensuring all recoverable costs are identified, documented, and pursued while supporting operational teams, mitigating financial loss, enhancing data quality, and promoting greater awareness of asset protection within the external contractor community.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
• Manage the end-to-end coordination of third-party strike and asset damage cases, ensuring timely investigation, resolution, and cost recovery.
• Review Maximo work orders and other business systems to identify, investigate, and validate incidents involving damage to Uisce Éireann assets.
• Liaise with operational teams, regional staff, and key stakeholders to gather, verify, and assess incident information.
• Evaluate and collate repair, reinstatement, and associated operational costs to support robust cost recovery activities.
• Prepare and issue standardised correspondence, supporting documentation, and evidence packs to facilitate recovery from responsible parties.
• Maintain accurate records, case files, and audit trails in line with company procedures, governance, and compliance requirements.
• Liaise with the Uisce Éireann Insurance Department and other internal stakeholders regarding claims, disputes, and recovery matters as required.
• Monitor, track, and reconcile invoicing, payments received, and outstanding balances to support financial controls and reporting.
• Produce regular reports and performance information on third-party strikes, recovery outcomes, and emerging business trends.
• Manage a high-volume shared inbox, responding to complex queries and ensuring actions are completed within agreed timeframes.
• Identify opportunities to improve processes, data quality, reporting capabilities, and recovery performance.
• Build and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders to support successful business outcomes.
• Provide guidance, support, and knowledge sharing to colleagues and operational teams as required.
• Promote asset protection awareness and contribute to initiatives aimed at reducing third-party damage incidents across the network.
• Support business objectives by minimising financial loss, maximising cost recovery, and contributing to the protection of critical water and wastewater infrastructure.
General Duties and Responsibilities
• Collaboration with key internal stakeholders across the UÉ business; including Scheduling and Dispatch, Frontline Technical Leads/Team Leads, Accounts Receivable, and Insurance, to support the timely investigation, resolution, and cost recovery of third-party asset damage
• Responsible for promoting and delivering health and safety commitments across UÉ and its supply chain, reinforcing positive behaviours and delivering health and safety objectives and requirements to the highest industry standards.
• Support the delivery of the Uisce Éireann Transformation Programme, driving results required within the Directorate and supporting organisation-wide objectives.
• Conducts duties and responsibilities in accordance with Uisce Éireann's Information Security policies, standards, processes and controls to protect the confidentiality, integrity and availability of UÉ business information, and delivery of critical services, in accordance with the NIS Directive and any other relevant cybersecurity regulation.
• Other duties as required.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience:
• Strong working knowledge and experience of Maximo, including the ability to review, analyse, and interpret data
• Self-motivated and proactive, with the ability to work independently, manage competing priorities, and take ownership of tasks through to completion.
• Relevant third level qualification and or accreditation or relevant experience
• A minimum of 2 years' relevant experience in the water, utilities or similar industries is desirable and or relevant experience.
• Proactive, with ability to work on own initiative and with others to ensure success in the performance of a team.
• Proven effective time management skills with the ability to prioritise and remain focused.
• We work better together - proven ability to create and develop good working relationships to facilitate the accomplishment of work goals, coupled with the ability to gain commitment from others.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to convey messages in a clear and concise manner.
