Portwest Retail is a leading Irish owned retail chain with 4 stores on the Wild Atlantic Way, in Westport, Galway and Killarney.

We are an outdoor adventure focused retailer who work with over 50 of some of the best outdoor brands on the market.

We are currently recruiting for an EPOS Administrator on an eighteen month contract, based in our recently renovated Galway City store. The EPOS Administrator is responsible for the administration, maintenance and continuous improvement of the Electronic Point of Sale (EPOS) system across retail operations.

Flexible working arrangements are available, with the option to work either a four-day or five-day working week, depending on the preferences of the successful candidate.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain all product, SKU, barcode, pricing and stock information within the EPOS system
  • Manage day to day EPOS system administration and troubleshooting
  • Ensure promotions are implemented accurately across stores and online channels
  • Monitor stock variances and investigate discrepancies
  • Support and coordinate stocktakes across retail locations
  • Ensure product master data is maintained to a high standard
  • Support compliance reporting to senior management relating to refunds, discounts, negative stocks and banking controls
  • Assist with audit requirements and provide supporting documentation as required
  • Ensure product and pricing alignment between EPOS and e-commerce platforms
  • Support product uploads, category management and pricing updates online
  • Provide first line support to retail staff on EPOS related issues
  • Identify opportunities to improve retail processes through better use of EPOS functionality

Experience & Qualifications
  • Minimum 2-3 years' experience in EPOS administration, retail systems or retail operations
  • Strong understanding of retail stock control and inventory management
  • Advanced Excel and reporting skills
  • Experience working with large product databases
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Excellent attention to detail


Desirable
  • Experience with Shopify or other e-commerce platforms
  • Understanding of accounting and retail finance controls
  • Experience within multi-site retail operations
