We are looking for a Junior Quantity Surveyorto join our commercial team on a major pharmaceutical construction project based in Athlone.


This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious Quantity Surveyor at the early stages of their career to gain hands-on experience on a high-profile pharma project. Working alongside experienced Commercial Managers and Senior Quantity Surveyors, you'll develop your skills in cost management, procurement, contract administration, and commercial project delivery within one of Ireland's fastest-growing construction companies.

What You'll Do

  • Support the commercial team with the financial management of a major pharmaceutical project

  • Assist in preparing cost reports, valuations, and payment applications

  • Help procure subcontractors and suppliers

  • Prepare and issue subcontract documentation

  • Measure and value subcontractor works

  • Assist with the preparation and agreement of variations and final accounts

  • Monitor project costs and support budget control throughout the project lifecycle

  • Maintain accurate commercial records and project documentation

  • Liaise with Project Managers, Site Teams, subcontractors, suppliers, and clients

  • Support tender submissions and commercial reporting where required

  • Gain exposure to the commercial management of a technically complex, high-value construction project

What We're Looking For

  • Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Economics, or a related discipline

  • 1–3 years' experience in a Quantity Surveying role or relevant industry placement

  • Strong commercial awareness and numerical skills

  • Good understanding of construction contracts and cost management principles

  • Excellent communication and organisational skills

  • Good IT skills, particularly Microsoft Excel and commercial management software

  • Motivated, proactive, and eager to develop a career in Quantity Surveying

  • Experience working on construction projects in Ireland is an advantage

  • Previous exposure to pharmaceutical, industrial, or commercial projects is beneficial but not essential
