ABOUT TRINDENT

Trindent Consulting is a global management consulting firm that specializes in technical augmentation in the energy sector, specifically downstream oil & gas and large energy users. We are a profit improvement firm, first and foremost.

We've helped over 100 clients achieve significant financial benefits that yield between 500-1500% return-on-investment within the 1st year - and we've done that without capital investments or software changes of any kind.

Established in 2008, Trindent Consulting has quickly garnered a reputation as a firm that Makes It Happen™. We are ranked as one of Canada's Fastest-Growing Companies by Canadian Business and GROWTH 500 for 7 years in a row and named one of the Fastest-Growing Consulting Firms by Consulting Magazine in 2015 through 2020.

Trindent Consulting specializes in process engineering & optimization. Without capital investment we create actionable ways to sustainably increase refinery margins by 2-3%.

Refineries are extraordinarily complex businesses. Trindent specializes in several ultra-high value niches within refineries where tens of millions of dollars in performance improvement may be captured in the short-term.

Underpinned by data analytics, industry know-how, and technical experience; Trindent has implemented improvement engagements in over 40 refineries globally.

BUSINESS EXPANSION

Our European practice is expanding. As part of this growth, we are building a strong pipeline of experienced refinery professionals to support client engagements across the European Union. While opportunities will depend on client demand, we are actively engaging with qualified engineers who can contribute within one of Trindent's four core downstream services. We are gearing up for 20-25% growth and we hope you will join us on this journey!

This is a highly client-facing role based around project delivery in the EU. Consultants must be available to travel approximately 80% of the time, typically Monday to Friday, to client sites across EU member states.

THE OPPORTUNITY

We have opportunities for experienced Chemical Engineers with at least 2 (two) years of experience in a refinery environment. As consultants they will work within one or more of Trindent's four core services: Quality Giveaway Reduction, Hydrocarbon Loss Control and Measurement Assurance, Energy Intensity Enhancement, and Value Chain and Planning Optimization.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Data Analysis, Implementation & Reporting
Mine, cleanse and analyse operating data in Excel; develop dashboards, KPI grids and management reporting; support observations, audits, area profiles and continuous-improvement activities; and translate findings into practical actions with measurable financial and operational impact.

Client Collaboration & Sustainable Change
Work closely with refinery operations, planning, scheduling, laboratory, maintenance, engineering and management teams. Help implement sustainable processes, clarify accountabilities and embed new ways of working that continue after the engagement.

WITHIN ONE OR MORE OF TRINDENT'S CORE SERVICES

Quality Giveaway Reduction (Gasoline Blending)
Improve blend planning, scheduling and execution; review backcasting, analyser modelling, spectra preprocessing, trimming and offset correction; and help install site-specific blending guidelines that reduce quality giveaway and sustain improved performance.

Hydrocarbon Loss Control & Measurement Assurance
Improve volume expansion and mass-balance reporting through stronger measurement practices, calculations and reconciliation processes. Support unit-level mass balance, sediment and water analysis, hydrocarbon volume recovery, database processing and data analysis.

Energy Intensity Enhancement
Identify inefficiencies and quantify opportunities in steam, electricity, natural gas, heat-exchanger performance, fuel selection and hydrogen management. Apply process engineering and control to implement sustainable reductions in energy intensity.

Value Chain & Planning Optimization
Enhance refinery LP outputs for feedstock selection, product mix and operating constraints. Assess models for accuracy and convergence, perform sensitivity analysis, support long-range planning and improve unit mass balance through density reconciliation, measurement maintenance and continuous monitoring.

KEY SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

At least 2 (two) years of hands-on experience in a refinery environment; a strong understanding of refinery operations and process engineering; advanced data mining and analysis skills in Excel, problem-solving and communication skills; and the ability to work effectively with client stakeholders in a site-based consulting environment. Knowledge of tools such as Aspen PIMS, AVEVA Spiral, Haverly GRTMPS, Honeywell RPMS or equivalent is an advantage.

QUALIFICATIONS

Degree in Chemical Engineering or Petroleum Engineering.

A minimum of 2 (two) years of professional experience in a refinery environment is required.

WORK LOCATION & FLEXIBILITY

Client-facing consulting role supporting engagements across the European Union.

Approximately 80% travel is required, typically Monday to Friday, according to project and client needs.

Candidates must be able to travel regularly and work onsite at refinery and client locations throughout the EU.
