Role Profile

The School of History and Geography intends to appoint an Assistant Professor in Human Geography. The successful candidate will have a research track record commensurate with their career stage and a defined research plan in one or more of the following areas: social, economic, and/or cultural geography, preferably with a rural focus.

The successful candidate will have experience of teaching at undergraduate level and will be expected to take significant responsibility in teaching and assessing a number of modules to undergraduate students on our Geography (BA) and Climate and Environmental Sustainability (BCES) programmes. The successful candidate will coordinate and contribute to team taught modules including survey, research-led, skills-based and fieldwork modules.

The successful candidate will also be expected to perform other tasks as established by the Head of School.

Salary Scale:

Assistant Professor - €65,229 - €104,536

Appointment will be commensurate with qualifications and experience and in line with current Government pay policy.
