Role Profile
We are inviting applications from talented and motivated postdoctoral researchers with a strong record of experience and achievement in synthesis of fluorescent probes, to develop targeted probes of inflammatory markers for imaging in live cells and tissues. The role is part of a broader collaborative US-Ireland project on understanding how drug intervention impacts inflammatory markers in cells. The researcher will develop small molecule inorganic and BODIPY sensors ( for confocal fluorescence, including super-resolution and fluorescence lifetime imaging ) and their bioconjugation as well as conduct solution assays of sensor analytical response and toxicity/phototoxicity screens of potential probes.
Prospective candidates must have a PhD in synthetic organic and inorganic synthesis of luminescent molecules and experience in photophysical and optical characterisation of emissive probes. Experience in biochemical methods such as high-throughput assay/toxicity screening, bioconjugation, and electrophoresis will be an advantage.

Salary Scale:
IUA Postdoctoral Researcher Salary Scale (point 1 to point 2) - €47,273 - € 47,879
Appointment will be commensurate with qualifications and experience and in line with current Government pay policy
