The Role

We are seeking an experienced and strategic leader to join Northern Trust as Head of Fund Accounting - Ireland. This is a senior leadership role responsible for overseeing our Fund Accounting and Valuation operations, ensuring exceptional client service, operational excellence, regulatory compliance, and a strong risk and control environment. Leading a large team of professionals, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future direction of the function, driving transformation initiatives, developing talent, and partnering with senior stakeholders across the business. This opportunity will suit an accomplished leader with deep fund accounting expertise, strong people leadership skills, and a passion for delivering innovative solutions in a highly regulated environment.

This role is designated as a Pre-Approval Controlled Function (PCF-34) under the Central Bank of Ireland Fitness & Probity Regime and is subject to approval by the Central Bank of Ireland prior to appointment.

What You'll Do
  • Lead and inspire a high-performing Fund Accounting team, creating a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Develop and execute strategic priorities that support business growth, operational excellence, and client satisfaction.
  • Ensure the timely and accurate delivery of valuation and fund accounting services for a diverse client base.
  • Serve as a trusted partner to clients, acting as a senior escalation point and building strong, long-term relationships.
  • Drive change and transformation initiatives, leveraging technology and process improvements to enhance operational effectiveness.
  • Provide leadership on risk management, governance, and regulatory matters, ensuring a strong control environment.
  • Manage resource planning, budgeting, workforce strategy, and talent development across the function.
  • Support and coach leaders and team members to achieve their full potential while building robust succession plans.
  • Partner with senior executives and key stakeholders across operations, risk, compliance, and technology functions.
  • Champion Northern Trust's values and culture, helping to create an intentionally inclusive and client-focused environment.


What We're Looking For

Experience
  • Significant leadership experience within Fund Accounting, Valuations, Asset Servicing, or Financial Services.
  • Experience leading large and geographically diverse teams.
  • Demonstrated success managing complex operations within a regulated environment.
  • Proven ability to lead through change and deliver strategic business outcomes.
  • Strong experience engaging with clients, regulators, and senior stakeholders.
