Job Summary

Reporting to the Engineering, Automation or Maintenance Manager, the Project Engineer is responsible for delivering various Engineering Projects

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Leads Continuous Improvement Projects within the Operations engineering team. These projects will include but are not limited to Advanced Manufacturing Projects, Lean Projects, Health and Safety projects.
  • Manage/lead projects to be delivered on time and within budget
  • Manage/lead capital and non-capital projects to improve capacity, quality, efficiency, utilization and safety at the lowest cost
  • Work closely with leaders within the engineering department and other functions to ensure projects are effectively managed and handed over on completion.
  • Evaluation of suppliers for new equipment and / or processes / technologies.
  • Proactively research, scope and implement innovative projects to remove Non-Value Add activity in West
  • Communicate on a regular basis to site senior leadership, critical projects program manager and with customers.
  • Supports new projects / programs risk assessments and validations e.g. equipment site acceptance testing (SAT)
  • Perform additional duties at the request of the direct supervisor.
  • Acts in accordance with the company's Guiding Principles and adherence to the corporate Code of Conduct.

Education

  • Bachelor's Degree In a relevant Engineering subject preferred

Work Experience

  • Minimum 3 years Experience in medical device industry or other regulated industry
  • Minimum 3 years Experience in supporting technical project management

Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

    • Good interpersonal skills.
    • Must be able to work in a team environment.
    • Must have a minimum of 2 years' experience in a previous project engineer role.
    • Must have experience of working in a high volume, highly regulated manufacturing operation, ideally in the Medical, Packaging or technological industry sectors.
    • Must have excellent communication skills both written and oral.
    • Should have a good knowledge of the principles of WCM, JIT, SMED, and Kaizen.
    • Must have good financial acumen and procurement knowledge.
    • High competency level in MS Office applications.
    Must be able to prioritize, organize tasks and work to specified deadlines

Travel Requirements

5%: Up to 13 business days per year

Physical Requirements

Light-Exerting up to 20lbs/9kg of force frequently, and/or negligible amount of force frequently constantly to move objects.

Additional Requirements

  • Must be able to work a 39-hour work week, plus overtime and/or irregular hours as required to complete assignments. May stand or sit for extended periods of time. Must transport oneself to and from other areas of the facility and travel to other divisions when necessary. Must have good visual acuity. If specifically necessitated by customer requirements, must be able to see with or without corrective lenses and distinguish color differences for product and safety issues.
  • Medical Device manufacturing requires strict adherence to standards. Working environment is a manufacturing facility, which houses plastic injection molding machines.

Working Hours

Monday to Thursday - 8 am to 5pm

Friday - 8 am to 4pm

Pay Transparency:

The annual base salary range for this position is 51,040.00 - 64,960.00. Total target compensation is determined using objective and gender-neutral criteria, including relevant experience, qualifications, skills, market benchmarks, geographic location, and the scope and responsibilities of the role.

This position may be eligible for variable compensation and other incentive programs in accordance with the terms of the applicable plans within the country of employment. In addition, team members are eligible to participate in the company's benefits and total rewards programs applicable to their location and employment status.
