Assistant National Director Governance, Risk and Compliance
Job Purpose
The Assistant National Director of Governance, Risk and Compliance (GRC) is a newly established role in the Dublin and North East Health Region. The focus of the role is on establishment and implementation of a governance framework for DNE ensuring a safe, accountable and high performing organisation which is compliant with the HSE Code of Governance. The post holder will oversee a range of functions including Data Protection, Enterprise Risk Management, Compliance (including Protected Disclosures), legal and regulatory affairs.
Reporting directly to the Regional Executive Officer, the post holder as a member of the Region's Executive Management Team (EMT), will provide governance advice to the Team and promote high standards of delivery and development of good governance practices.
This role ensures that the organisation operates within regulatory requirements, internal policies, and best practices while supporting strategic objectives.
Essential Criteria
Candidates must have at the latest date of application:
- (i) Experience of working in a senior management role in an area relevant to this role. This should include significant experience in the delivery of complex services.
- (ii) A significant track record of achievement as a leader and senior manager in a large complex organisation.
- (iii) Significant experience in the design and implementation of Corporate Governance systems including risk management, organisational assurance /control frameworks across one or more roles at a senior management level
- (iv) A successful track record of planning and delivering organisational change in a complex environment
- (v) Experience of managing and working collaboratively with multiple internal and external stakeholders as relevant to this role
- (vi) Have the requisite knowledge and ability (including a high standard of suitability and management ability) for the proper discharge of the duties of the office.
Health
A candidate for and any person holding the office must be fully competent and capable of undertaking the duties attached to the office and be in a state of health such as would indicate a reasonable prospect of ability to render regular and efficient service.
Character
