Summary: The role of the Associate Director - Regulatory Reporting COE is to manage and coordinate the timely completion of periodic regulatory filings on behalf of external and internal clients. Filings will include AnnexIV, FormPF, CPO, Solvency II etc. and others which may be assigned on an ongoing basis. The Associate Director - Regulatory Reporting COE will also assist the Director with the development of the Regulatory Reporting COE and ensure the appropriate framework is established within which the Regulatory Reporting COE team will operate and best serve the Waystone business lines it supports. This will also involve taking a lead role in growing the Regulatory Reporting COE with a specific focus on successfully integrating regulatory reporting activities from global business units where appropriate.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Management and supervision of Regulatory Reporting staff members in completing regulatory filings and overall responsibility for the timely completion of such filings.
  • Accountable for ensuring an appropriate Regulatory Reporting COE framework is established e.g. ensure SLA's, KPI's etc. are established between COE and outsourcing entity.
  • Work with other Waystone Group entities to establish areas the COE can add value to the group with regards to activities specific to regulatory reporting.
  • Interaction with clients (internal and external) for review of regulatory submissions and supervision of timely amendments.
  • Be proficient in problem solving, striving to use own initiative to take ownership of the task.
  • Interpretation of analytics across all asset classes (equity, fixed income, credit, interest rate, etc.) and communication of results.
  • Performing data management and manipulation using a range of tools.
  • Work on a regular basis with both internal and external systems such as Rabbit, Insight, and Bloomberg.
  • Perform reconciliations on a range of data, accounting, compliance checks and risk analytics.
  • Proactively manage the Junior Associates, Associates and Senior Associates, Managers on the team.
  • Attend presentations to clients and potential clients when required to present and discuss regulatory reporting in the context of the COE.
  • Actively participate in fund governance meetings and attend technical training when required.
  • Work co-operatively with other groups in different locations and time zones.
  • Provide adequate documentation and backup of all operational processes and procedures.
  • Assisting the business with ad-hoc client queries.
  • Be a subject matter expert in regulatory reporting requirements specific to AIFMD, UCITS and other regulatory filing requirements and develop team to be SMEs too.
  • Communicate with clients to ensure satisfaction with the service provided and to resolve any potential issues.
  • Follow and enhance existing procedures, to solve routine problems and help in the development of new procedures as required.
  • Keep abreast of new regulatory changes and help implement these changes e.g. AIFMD II & UCITS VI
  • Independently liaise with fund service providers as required.
  • Other projects and duties as assigned.
  • Be driven, inquisitive and be able to self-manage.


Education:

A minimum of a 3rd level Degree in Finance, Business or similar field is required. A master's degree in a Finance or Mathematical field or a related professional qualification would be desirable.

Experience:

  • The successful candidate will have worked for at least 6 - 8 years in a risk or regulatory related role, preferably within the funds industry. They will have some experience in dealing with both external and internal clients and will have managed a team.
  • Knowledge of or previous exposure to some regulatory filings, including but not limited to, AIFMD, UCITS, CPO-PQR, Form PF, Solvency II, and PRIIP's is preferable but not a requirement.
  • They will have had either exposure to or have knowledge of several risk measurements including Value at Risk, Stress Testing, Liquidity Analysis, Leverage, Back Testing and will have a strong knowledge of a range of instruments including derivatives.
  • Previous management or supervisor experience is essential.
  • The role involves detailed use of Excel and is a quantitative role so an aptitude and comfort working with numbers and spreadsheets is preferred.
  • Any experience of using Bloomberg would be beneficial as it is used on a regular basis.
