As an Implementation Project Manager, you will play a critical role in bringing advanced newborn screening solutions into laboratories worldwide, enabling earlier detection of life-threatening conditions and supporting better outcomes for babies and their families.

In this customer-facing role, you will manage the implementation of cutting-edge newborn screening systems from order placement through installation, validation, customer acceptance, and post-go-live support. Working closely with laboratory leaders, clinical scientists, healthcare professionals, and cross-functional teams, you will ensure customers successfully adopt solutions that support high-quality, reliable, and compliant newborn screening programmes.

You will be the driving force behind each implementation, coordinating technical, operational, and customer activities to deliver a seamless experience and help laboratories transition confidently to new technologies. Your ability to build trusted relationships, manage complexity, and maintain an unwavering focus on customer success will directly contribute to improving public health and advancing neonatal care.

This position is based at Waters' Wexford site and follows a hybrid working model, with three days per week (Tuesday to Thursday) in the Wexford office and remote working on Mondays and Fridays.

Responsibilities

  • Lead system implementations from Sales handover through to final customer acceptance and hypercare completion.
  • Establish and manage implementation plans covering:
    • Pre-installation activities
    • Installation and configuration
    • Verification/validation
    • Customer sign-off
    • Hypercare support phase
  • Act as the primary interface following Sales closure and order confirmation
  • Review sales documentation, technical requirements, and contractual scope
  • Verify completeness of order, configuration, and customer-specific requirements
  • Manage communication with customers regarding site preparation and readiness timelines
  • Coordinate installation activities with Service and Engineering team
  • Ensure system performance verification and validation activities are completed as require
  • Support customer method validation and application readiness where applicabl
  • Manage formal customer acceptance process, including:
    • Documentation review
    • Performance confirmation
    • Sign-off approvals
    • Collaborate closely with:

Qualifications

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Life Sciences, Engineering, or related discipline
  • Project Management qualification (PMP or equivalent) preferred

Experience:

  • Proven experience in system implementation, project management, or field deployment roles
  • Experience in IVD, clinical diagnostics, laboratory systems, or life sciences preferred

  • Strong end-to-end delivery mindset (commercial technical operational)
  • Excellent stakeholder management across customer and internal teams
  • Structured project planning and execution capability
  • Strong problem-solving and risk management skills
  • Effective communication (written and verbal) with both technical and non-technical stakeholders

Ability to operate in cross-functional, global environments
