From airfield pavements and drainage networks to roads, bridges, tunnels and utility systems, our Civil Engineering team is responsible for maintaining and developing the assets that enable Dublin Airport to operate safely and efficiently every day.
We're looking for ambitious, curious and motivated individuals to join our Asset Management team as Civil Engineering Apprentices. This is a unique opportunity to gain practical engineering experience while studying towards a Level 8 Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) in Civil Engineering through Atlantic Technological University.
As an apprentice, you'll become part of a team responsible for managing one of Ireland's most complex infrastructure environments, helping to shape the future development of Dublin Airport.
About the Role
This role combines academic learning with real-world engineering experience. You'll spend the majority of your time working alongside Chartered Engineers, Asset Managers and Project Delivery teams, while attending your academic programme through the Civil Engineering Apprenticeship pathway.
Over the course of the programme, you will gain hands-on experience across a range of engineering disciplines, developing both technical knowledge and practical skills in infrastructure management, inspection, maintenance and construction.
The Civil Engineering Apprenticeship combines academic learning with practical workplace experience over four years. The programme includes:
• A Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) in Civil Engineering (Level 8) delivered by ATU.
• Online lectures and scheduled campus attendance throughout the year.
• Structured on-the-job training within the daa Asset Management team.
• Mentoring and support from experienced Civil Engineers and infrastructure professionals.
• Exposure to airport infrastructure projects, asset inspections, maintenance planning, sustainability initiatives and capital development programmes.
• Opportunities to build practical engineering skills while contributing to the safe and efficient operation of Dublin Airport.
Responsibilities
As part of the Asset Management team, you will:
• Support the management of airport civil assets.
• Assist in condition inspections and engineering surveys.
• Participate in the development of maintenance and renewal programmes.
• Contribute to engineering assessments and technical reporting.
• Assist with the planning and delivery of infrastructure improvement projects.
• Work alongside consultants, contractors and operational teams.
• Maintain engineering records, drawings and asset information systems.
• Support health, safety and environmental compliance activities.
• Apply classroom learning to real engineering challenges and workplace projects.
• Complete all apprenticeship learning, assessments and development activities successfully.

• Minimum Grade H4 in Leaving Certificate Mathematics.
• Minimum Grade H5 in one other subject.
• Four additional subjects at O6/H7 or above.
• Subjects must include Irish or English and a laboratory science subject.
• NFQ Level 6 in a related field is desirable, not essential.
• Applicants must also be eligible to work in Ireland.
