Senior Lecturer in Social Care, School of Applied Social Studies

Permanent Whole Time Post

UCC wishes to appoint an academic to the role of Senior Lecturer in Social Care in the School of Applied Social Studies. Reporting to the Head of School, the post-holder will provide leadership in research and research-led teaching within the Social Care Programme and the wider School of Applied Social Studies. The successful candidate will be expected to engage in internationally impactful research through securing competitive research funding, supervising doctoral and postdoctoral researchers, producing high-quality publications and contributing to wider dissemination activities. As a leadership appointment, the post-holder will play a key role in building research capacity across the School, including participation in European funding initiatives.

In line with the University's strategic objective as a research-led institution, the duties of all academic staff include research, research-led teaching and contributions to the University, the discipline and the wider community. The successful candidate will teach on undergraduate and postgraduate programmes, supervise student research and contribute to the collegial and administrative work of the School.

The ideal candidate will make a strong research-led contribution to the development of the Social Care Programme and will demonstrate leadership in teaching, research and engagement.

The appointee must have CORU registration as a Social Care Worker or eligibility to apply and secure CORU Social Care registration *within 6 months of appointment.*

Appointment may be made on the Senior Lecturer Salary Scale: €85,597 - €121,283 (Scale B) / €82,662 - €115,218 (Scale A).

Salary placement on appointment will be in accordance with public sector pay policy.
