JOB DESCRIPTION
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
1. To admit all patients via Emergency Department, Out Patients, Elective Admissions and transfers from other hospitals.
2. To liaise with Patient Flow who will provide beds for pre-planned and emergency admissions.
3. To collect in real time and validate all demographic, eligibility and insurance details on every patient admitted to the hospital and ensure that all patients with health insurance are updated on the claimsure system or scanned onto the claimsure system.
4. To ensure that all health record case notes are made available, updated, maintained and sent to the wards with patients as they are admitted.
5. To ensure that information relating to inter ward/inter consultant transfers are updated on the Hospital Computer System and reflected on the health record case notes.
6. To ensure that patients are treated in a kind and welcoming manner.
7. Filing of health record case notes in Health Records.
8. Register all dialysis patients and admit patients to ASAU (Acute Surgical Assessment Unit) and the Acute Medical Assessment Unit(AMAU).
9. Have all health record case notes pulled for elective admissions.
10. Deal with any queries or requests from other hospitals.
11. Undertake any other duties appropriate to the post as may be assigned from time to time as the foregoing is not an exhaustive listing.
