The Department of Electronic, Software and Advanced Manufacturing Engineering is one of the five departments in the School of Mechanical & Manufacturing Engineering, and the department has over 400 full-time and part-time students registered on level 6, 7, 8, 9 and 10 programmes.
Programme delivery modes include part-time, full-time, blended learning and apprenticeships. The department offers programmes in the fields of electronics, software, manufacturing, automation & robotics. Many of these programmes are professional accredited and/or are in the process of being accredited by Engineers Ireland.
To aid with the delivery of these programmes, the department are seeking a highly motivated and knowledgeable individual to join our team. The Lecturer will play a crucial role in bringing industry standard practice to academia and assist in the development of programmes and modules at all levels for full-time and part-time students.
The successful candidates will deliver modules across the different programme in the department. The position is well-suited for an individual who has significant experience in implementing operation excellence in the manufacturing industry and is passionate about teaching and transferring engineering knowledge, practices and experiences.
The lecturer is expected to develop 'best practice' pedagogic methods which will engage the student and enhance the student's learning in context. The teaching emphasis is on the development of relevant skills through the use of industry standard practices and has recently steered toward more student-centred delivery and assessment methods and the integration of teaching and research.
