What's the Opportunity

We are seeking an innovative and driven Product Designer to lead design initiatives for Daft.ie, with a particular focus on making buying and selling property simple for everyone across the country. With over 1 million users visiting our website and apps every month, we're driven by the opportunity to enhance the home buying and selling experience. If you're excited to do impactful work that reaches hundreds of thousands of people, this could be the perfect role for you.

You'll join a modern, product-led team where design plays a central role in shaping direction-not just execution. Working closely with Product and Engineering, you'll help identify meaningful user problems, explore solutions quickly, and ship experiences that balance user needs with commercial outcomes.

You'll work in an AI-enabled design environment, using tools and workflows to accelerate discovery and iteration, while applying strong human judgement, craft, and user-centred thinking to deliver high-quality outcomes.

You will be entrusted with maintaining design excellence, encouraging innovation, and delivering outstanding user experiences to set us apart in the market.

How you'll Play your Part
  • Contribute to high-quality design: Play your part in ensuring high-quality design that enables a flawless and intuitive product experience for our users, while also exploring innovative new directions.
  • Conducting detailed Design Reviews: Utilise feedback to uphold consistency and excellence in design, encouraging a culture that prioritises high-quality work.
  • Solving user problems through design: Collaborate closely with Product to identify user problems or opportunities and build lean, innovative solutions grounded in user needs, data, and feasibility.
  • Advocating for Usability Testing and Research: Champion modern research and experimentation practices, using qualitative insights, behavioural data, and existing tools (such as GA, Hotjar, Convert) to inform decisions, validate solutions, and measure impact post-launch.
  • Working with AI-Enabled Workflows: Leverage AI tools to accelerate discovery, ideation, content exploration, and prototyping, while collaborating on AI-powered product features and continuously evolving design workflows as capabilities mature.
  • Systems, Scale and Craft: Contribute to scalable design systems and patterns that support consistency, adaptability, and personalised or AI-assisted experiences, maintaining high standards of craft while working at pace.
  • Contribute to a Positive Team Culture: Bring diversity of thought, inclusivity, and collaboration to the design & product team, and contribute valuable perspectives.

What you'll need to Thrive Here
  • History of crafting beautiful experiences: 4+ years experience in the field of product design or UX/UI fields.
  • Compelling Portfolio: Showcase a portfolio highlighting previous Product/UX/UI Design experience, emphasising problem-solving through solutions and their impact on user metrics.
  • Strategic Alignment: Ability to align design efforts with the business strategy of your delivery team, driving significant impact through design initiatives.
  • User-Centred Design: Strong grasp of user-centred design principles, design thinking methodologies, design systems and research practices. You should have a focus on excellent user experiences and improving key user metrics of your product area.
  • Design Tools Proficiency: Confident in Figma and collaborative tools (like Miro), Adobe Creative Suite, and using AI-driven tools to help early explorations, to enable design delivery and execution.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Effective communication skills to articulate ideas and rationale to cross-functional teams, enabling collaboration and understanding.
  • Agile Environment: Work in an Agile development environment, emphasising iterative design and rapid prototyping in an open and regular feedback culture.
  • Front-End Development Knowledge: Understanding of high level front-end development and the impact on design decisions, supporting collaboration with engineering teams.
  • Product Design Ownership: Demonstrated ability to think innovatively and challenge your own products with a willingness to explore and test new insights.
