Role Purpose

The GBS Record to Report (RTR) Manager is responsible for leading and developing the RTR function within the Global Business Services organisation. The role ensures the delivery of accurate, timely, and compliant financial accounting and reporting services whilst driving continuous improvement, standardisation, automation, and value creation across the end-to-end RTR process.

The RTR Manager acts as a strategic partner to Group Finance, Commercial Finance, Regional Finance teams, and other business stakeholders, ensuring that the RTR function not only delivers operational excellence but also contributes meaningful insight, process efficiency, and control enhancements that support wider business objectives.

A key focus of the role is developing a high-performing team culture, ensuring strong adherence to accounting principles, internal controls, and company policies while continuously identifying opportunities to improve service delivery, reduce risk, and increase efficiency.

Scope of Role

Lead and manage the Record to Report function within the GBS organisation.

Develop, coach, and inspire a team of RTR professionals to deliver high levels of performance, service quality, and stakeholder satisfaction.

Drive a culture of continuous improvement, standardisation, accountability, and operational excellence.

Partner with Group Finance, Commercial Finance, Internal Controls, Treasury, and Regional Finance teams to ensure alignment on priorities and successful delivery of financial objectives.

Ensure robust governance, compliance, and adherence to accounting policies, financial controls, and regulatory requirements.

Act as a strategic leader in identifying opportunities to enhance processes, leverage technology, automate activities, and improve the value provided by the RTR function.

Support GBS leadership in delivering the broader GBS strategy and transformation agenda.

Team Leadership & People Development

Lead, develop, and motivate the RTR team, creating a high-performing and engaged working environment.

Establish clear objectives, performance measures, and development plans for team members.

Provide coaching, mentoring, and succession planning to ensure continued growth of team capabilities.

Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, customer service, and continuous improvement.

Operational Excellence & Service Delivery

Manage the day-to-day delivery of RTR activities across all supported entities and regions.

Ensure month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities are completed accurately and on schedule.

Oversee management reporting, balance sheet reconciliations, journal entries, and financial reporting outputs.

Ensure service levels, KPIs, and SLAs are consistently achieved or exceeded.

Financial Control & Compliance

Ensure compliance with IFRS, local statutory requirements, Group Accounting Policies, and internal controls.

Maintain strong governance over financial reporting processes and the integrity of financial information.

Support internal and external audits and ensure timely closure of findings.

Continuous Improvement & Transformation

Lead initiatives to standardise, simplify, and optimise RTR processes across regions.

Drive automation opportunities and adoption of digital tools.

Support SAP S/4HANA, reporting, and finance transformation initiatives.

Promote Lean and continuous improvement principles throughout the function.

Stakeholder Management & Strategic Partnership

Build strong working relationships with Group Finance, Commercial Finance, Regional Finance leaders, and key stakeholders.

Provide insight and recommendations to support better financial and operational decision-making.

Represent RTR within cross-functional projects and process improvement initiatives.

Candidate Profile

Significant experience in Record to Report, Financial Accounting, or Finance Operations leadership within a multinational organisation or Shared Services/GBS environment.

Proven people leadership experience and track record of driving process improvement and transformation.

Professional accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA, CPA, CIMA or equivalent).

Strong technical accounting knowledge and understanding of IFRS and financial controls.

Strategic mindset with excellent stakeholder management, leadership, and communication skills.

Fluent English is required.

Spanish and/or German language skills would be advantageous due to stakeholder engagement across multiple regions.

Knowledge of SAP S/4HANA is advantageous.
