Tender Animator / 4D Planner (VDC)

REPORTING TO: BIM Manager

Purpose of Role

Work closely with the Manager Lead to ensure that workflows and project deliverables meet the required standards and are to the clients' satisfaction.

Role Responsibilities

• Develop high-quality 4D construction simulations that clearly communicate proposed construction methodologies for tender submissions.
• Create visual construction sequences aligned with project programmes, logistics strategies and phasing plans.
• Collaborate with planners, bid managers, estimators, design managers and operational teams to develop buildable construction methodologies.
• Interpret Primavera P6, Microsoft Project or equivalent construction programmes and convert them into engaging visual timelines.
• Integrate BIM models, construction drawings, temporary works and logistics information into coordinated 4D animations.
• Support the development of construction methodologies, access strategies, crane studies, site logistics and commissioning sequences.
• Produce visual content for client presentations, tender interviews and technical submissions.
• Coordinate with architects, engineers and consultants to ensure model accuracy and consistency during bid development.
• Identify sequencing, logistics and buildability risks through digital construction reviews and propose practical solutions.
• Maintain organised digital workflows, model version control and documentation throughout the tender process.
• Support the Bid Team by producing compelling visual material that strengthens tender submissions and improves client understanding.
• Work closely with the BIM and VDC teams to continually improve digital workflows, templates and visualisation standards.
• Monitor developments in digital construction, 4D planning and visualisation technologies, promoting innovation across the business.
• Support mentoring and knowledge sharing within the Digital Construction team where appropriate.
• Explore and implement emerging technologies including AI-assisted visualisation, automation and digital construction tools to improve tender efficiency.

The Candidate

• A Degree in Building Information Modelling (Level 7/8) or a related Engineering / Architecture Undergraduate Degree (Level 7/8) preferable.
• 2+ years' experience working in a related field (Main contractor experience in build/fit out is an advantage).
• Working knowledge of planning and modelling platforms including Primavera P6, Microsoft Project,
• Autodesk Revit, Navisworks and IFC workflows.
• Experience producing 4D construction simulations and construction sequencing visualisations.
• Ability to interpret construction programmes and convert programme logic into accurate visual timelines.
• Understanding of BIM processes, model coordination and digital construction workflows.
• Ability to integrate 3D models, drawings, logistics plans and construction methodologies into coherent
• animations.
• Familiarity with construction logistics, temporary works, crane strategies, access planning and
• commissioning sequences.
• Competent using Microsoft Office and presentation software to produce client-facing deliverables.
• Knowledge of Common Data Environments (Autodesk Construction Cloud, BIM360, Viewpoint, Asite etc.)
• is desirable.
• Experience with video editing, rendering or motion graphics software (Twinmotion, Lumion, Unreal Engine,
• After Effects or similar) would be advantageous.
• Modelling in Revit is an advantage
• Self-starter with excellent communications skills.
• Exercises good judgment when working under pressure; is patient and flexible.
