Community Facilitator (Connacht)

Part-Time - 3 Days per Week - 6 Month Fixed Term Contract for Services. Possibility of Extension, funding and Impact dependent.

Are you this person?

If you are someone who is passionate about remote work and genuinely believes in its potential to create real social, economic and environmental change, we would very much like to talk to you.

We are looking for a changemaker. Someone who walks into a room and instinctively becomes the host, making sure everyone feels welcome, everyone connects, and everyone leaves thinking it was worth showing up. You are extroverted and high energy, but more than that, you are driven by something bigger than yourself. You see the potential of remote work to transform communities and you want to be the person building that ecosystem on the ground, one relationship at a time.

This isn’t always a nine-to-five role. Events happen in the evenings and at weekends, but you choose when and where you show up. You are community-led and mission-driven. You build through the power of people and are familiar with using platforms like Meetup, Reddit, and Eventbrite to grow genuine engagement and form real-world partnerships with volunteer organisations, community groups, and local networks.

You must be based in the west of Ireland, know Connacht well, and hold a full, clean driving licence.

About Grow Remote

Our mission is to solve the challenges of remote work to unlock social, economic and environmental impact for individuals, employers and local communities. One of the most human challenges we tackle is loneliness. Remote work is powerful, but without the right support, it can be isolating and according to the Buffer State of Remote Work Report, it is one of the biggest challenges. This role exists to solve that, working with volunteers to bring remote workers together in their own communities and give them a reason to stay.

Grow Remote has been connecting remote workers in local communities across Ireland since 2018. Today we have over 70 volunteers, 52 active community groups, and more than 250 events happening every year. We are one of the leading voices internationally on remote and hybrid work - but our reason for existing has always been local. We have spent years building and learning in Munster and Leinster, and we know what works. This role is about taking that knowledge and applying it somewhere new. There are communities across Connacht we have not yet reached at scale, and that is exactly where this role comes in.

The Role

Think of this as running your own community enterprise. You are the person who owns Connacht. You navigate the stakeholders, grow the region, and get to feel the true impact of connecting people, organisations, and places in a way that makes a genuine difference. The Co-Working hubs, the local leaders, the volunteer groups, the employers - you are the one who brings all of those threads together and turns them into something that lasts.

It is a 3-day-a-week, 6-month role with the possibility of extension, funding and impact dependent. There are real targets and real reporting, but you will be backed by a small and experienced national team who have already built this in Munster and Leinster. You are not starting from scratch; you are taking what works and making it your own in a region that is ready for it. While your primary focus is Connacht, you will also play a role in supporting the health of existing communities across the network, making sure no group goes quiet.

No two weeks look the same. You might be out meeting a hub manager to scope a venue one day and running an online welcome session for new remote workers the next. You will develop and support local volunteers, build partnerships across the region, speak on local radio, capture content that tells the story of what you are building, and feed what you learn back into the organisation. The impact is visible, it is local, and it has your name on it.
