Professor (Scale 2) in Social Policy, School of Applied Social Studies

Permanent Whole Time Post

UCC wishes to appoint an academic to the role of Professor in Social Policy. Reporting to the Head of School, the post-holder will provide leadership in research and research-led teaching within Social Policy and the wider School of Applied Social Studies. The postholder will engage in internationally impactful research through generating research income, supervising doctoral and postdoctoral researchers, high-quality publication and wider dissemination activities. As a leadership post, they will build research capacity across the School particularly participation in European funding initiatives. They will promote excellence in research-led learning and teaching in campus-based, blended and online settings in line with the principles of Universal Design for Learning. They will contribute to the promotion of Social Policy within and beyond the university and advance Social Policy innovation in Irish society and internationally.

Appointment may be made on the Professor (Scale 2) Salary Scale: €124,381 - €146,079 (Scale B) / €118,162 - €138,776 (Scale A).

Salary placement on appointment will be in accordance with public sector pay policy.
