The primary role of the CNM1 is one of clinical and professional leadership in the nursing team. The post holder will: • Be a role model and will provide clinical expertise and support within the team. • Promote innovation and leadership to ensure best practice and quality patient-focused care. • Utilise education and training resources for the purpose of promoting the highest standards of safe and quality care to patients. • Will deputise for the CNM2 in their absence. A critical element of the role is the effective relationship and communication with the Clinical Nurse Manager 2 & 3, Directorate Nurse Manager, and with the multi-disciplinary team, thus ensuring safe, effective, and efficient patient care. Play a pivotal role in the coordination and management of activity and resources in the Unit.
