The Company
At AccountsIQ, we're on a mission to deeply understand our customers and deliver technology that enriches their lives. We provide smart, feature-rich financial management software designed for ambitious businesses that have outgrown basic starter systems or seek a simpler, more affordable alternative to complex, costly ERP solutions. Our cloud-based accounting software transforms the finance function, making it easier for multi-entity businesses to capture, process, and report their financial data with ease and efficiency.

The Role

This is a newly created QA Engineer role reporting to the Director of Engineering, driven by the continued growth of our engineering function. You will join an international team building and maintaining high-quality SaaS products across web applications and backend services. Working within cross-functional product squads in an Agile/Scrum environment, you will ensure quality is embedded throughout the development lifecycle. Automation and repeatability will be core to your work, with shared ownership of the quality of every software increment.

What you'll be doing:
  • Defining and executing testing scenarios across the full software development lifecycle
  • Building, maintaining, and improving automated UI tests using Playwright
  • Working closely with developers to clarify requirements and validate solutions
  • Performing and automating functional, regression, and acceptance testing
  • Tracking and reporting on quality metrics and investigating critical production issues
  • Promoting a strong quality-first culture and mentoring junior QA team members

What you'll need:
  • 3+ years' experience in a QA or test automation role
  • Experience authoring and maintaining automated tests in Playwright with a code-first approach
  • Experience working in Agile or Lean development environments
  • A solid understanding of test automation principles and quality best practices
  • Basic SQL knowledge and the ability to understand and work with C# code
  • Experience with at least one scripting language
  • ISTQB certification (or equivalent) is a plus
  • You're curious about new technologies and enjoy thoughtfully applying them to improve existing systems
  • Experience working on a SaaS product is a plus

What's the hiring process?

  1. After application review, shortlisted candidates will be invited to complete a short one-way video interview via Hireflix. The questions are written by our Director of Engineering, and all responses are reviewed manually. We do not use AI to assess candidate responses or in any part of the recruitment process.
  2. You'll then have a short call with our People team to discuss your application, motivations, availability, salary expectations, and any questions you have about the role or process.
  3. Following this, you'll meet our Director of Engineering for a 30-minute technical discussion covering your QA background, automation experience, and approach to testing.
  4. The next stage is a practical technical interview with the hiring team, lasting around 1.5-2 hours. This includes a manual debugging task followed by writing an automation test in Playwright. You won't need to prepare anything in advance, other than having a laptop and a stable connection.
  5. The final stage is an informal conversation with our CTO, giving you the chance to learn more about our technology strategy, the team, and how this role contributes to the wider department.

We use the one-way video stage to give every candidate the same opportunity to answer role-relevant QA questions, and all responses are reviewed manually by the hiring team. Please keep an eye out for an email from Hireflix, as this will be the first stage of the process following application review.
