ABOUT THE POSITION
Black Shamrock is looking for a motivated Environment Art Intern to be part of our creative team and work on ambitious projects. This is a full-time position based in our Dublin office on a fixed-term basis, which involves working in an international environment. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to collaborate with our talented artists across various disciplines in Environment Art whilst gaining hands-on experience of game development pipelines and workflows. This opportunity is perfect for individuals looking to kick start their career in games and develop on their fundamental's skills within art.
- Qualification in game development and other relevant degrees/relevant experience.
- Working knowledge of relevant 3D software (e.g. Blender, Maya, 3DS Max etc.)
- Knowledge in a 3D modelling software such and Maya or 3DSMax.
- Strong sense of scene composition.
- An understanding of how environments affect gameplay.
- Eye for lighting, colour and detail.
- Game Engine knowledge. (Unreal)
- A portfolio showcasing your Artistic skills.
- Good interpersonal and communication skills.
- Passion for Art & Video Games.
- Create gorgeous, realistic 3D environments for AAA projects.
- Create structures, terrain, props from photo reference and concepts.
- Integrate new assets, such as models and textures into the game engine.
- Experience creating the architectural, and in some cases, lighting elements of the level and integrate them.
- Work closely with level designers to make sure game/level design goals are met.
- Become familiar with game design documents so as to know the environments, objects, atmospheres, story, and style in order to build their level.
- Partner with design team to support encounters, narrative elements and objectives.
