Research Assistant - DIGIGAS Project
This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated Research Assistant to contribute to the development and delivery of the DIGIGAS project, which aims to design and implement a GeoAI-powered digital twin to support Ireland's renewable gas infrastructure planning and decarbonisation strategy.
The DIGIGAS project addresses critical national challenges, including biomethane integration, methane leakage detection, climate risk resilience, and data-driven infrastructure optimisation. The project is delivered through collaboration between academic researchers, industry stakeholders, and policy actors.
The post holder will play an important role in supporting stakeholder engagement, technical implementation activities, and geospatial data workflows associated with the development of the digital twin platform. The successful candidate will work closely with the PI and Co-PI and contribute to applied research activities, prototype development, and project deliverables.
The role offers an opportunity to gain experience in collaborative industry research, geospatial analytics, Earth Observation integration, and digital infrastructure innovation within a multidisciplinary research environment.
