Role Type: Permanent - Day shift
Equipment Owners are responsible for a dedicated equipment/s; next to the daily execution of standards, they are contributing to the loss elimination by supporting the further improvement of the standards of the equipment. This valuable work supports the site achieving operational excellence and the site vision.
An Equipment Owner will be responsible for:
Base responsibilities (all Operators)
- Operating the equipment and executing change overs according to site standards (including safety & quality requirements)
- Maintaining 6S (Sort, Set in order, Shine, Safety, Standardise, Systemise) standards of appearance for equipment/area
- Executing daily the RTT DMS's (Run to Target Daily Management System) including fixing defects up to their capability
- Contribute to the Shift DDS by delivering the needed input (data & issue descriptions, action plan) and action directly where possible
Clean Inspect Lubricate (CIL) & Centerlines (CL) & Defect Handling (DH)
- Knowing and owning CILs (Clean, Inspect and Lubricate) and CLs (Centerlines) for their area
- Initial CIL work to restore the equipment to base condition
- Complete CILs and CLs as outlined in the daily plan
- Seeks to find defects within their area and log these
- Resolving any defects or track these if the EO is unable to resolve themselves
Problem solving/Autonomous Maintenance Steps/Equipment Ownership Book
- Develop and own the Equipment Ownership book (created with the help of coaches during the AM journey)
- Track/report losses of the equipment in the scorecard & Shift DDS Board and resolve or influence priorities appropriately
- Problem-solving any failures to root cause (using Initial Problem Solving/IPS tool) and adjust CIL & CL appropriately
- Support Maintenance in breakdown elimination and execution of planned maintenance tasks
- Improve performance of equipment based on AM Steps audit targets and once the equipment passed the steps audit maintain the performance
Staying Connected
- Talk with other EOs of the same equipment on their shift (if multiples per shift)
- Be connected to the site wide EO network to provide suggestions and input to suggested changes (CILs, Centre Lines process, etc.)
- Participating in Shift DDS (where possible)
- Provide training for their equipment to new recruits or agency workers as needed
- Flexibility to move to other equipment to expand skills and reduce losses
Next to achieving the personal AM Step Up Cards for AM Step 1-3, the equipment needs to pass the AM Step 1-3 audit, delivering the needed loss elimination and maintain the performance.
In later Phases this will be extended to the further AM Steps 4-7.
Requirements:
2 years previous Machine operative experience
