Genesys is seeking a motivated Intern Software Engineer to join our Event Data Platform team. This role offers hands-on experience designing, building, and maintaining high-throughput data systems that process and deliver event data at scale. You'll work alongside experienced engineers, contributing to real production systems while developing your skills in distributed computing, data engineering, and cloud-native development.

Genesys is seeking a motivated Intern Software Engineer to join our Event Data Platform team. This role offers hands-on experience designing, building, and maintaining high-throughput data systems that process and deliver event data at scale. You'll work alongside experienced engineers, contributing to real production systems while developing your skills in distributed computing, data engineering, and cloud-native development.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain Java-based services within the event data platform, including event ingestion, processing, and delivery pipelines.
- Write clean, well-tested, and performant code following team standards and best practices.
- Participate in code reviews, providing and receiving constructive feedback.
- Collaborate with senior engineers to design and implement new features and improvements.
- Assist with troubleshooting and debugging issues across distributed systems.
- Contribute to documentation, including technical design documents and runbooks.
- Participate in agile ceremonies such as standups, sprint planning, and retrospectives.
Minimum Requirements:
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Solid understanding of Java fundamentals including object-oriented programming, collections, concurrency, and exception handling.
- Familiarity with data structures and algorithms.
- Basic understanding of version control using Git.
- Strong problem-solving skills and a willingness to learn.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
