What this Job Entails:

The Data Center Technician III is a senior technical contributor responsible for ensuring reliable and efficient operation of data center infrastructure. This role combines hands-on execution with advanced troubleshooting, quality assurance, and adherence to operational standards. In addition to performing complex installations, maintenance, and decommissioning activities, the Technician III serves as a technical resource for the team, supports knowledge sharing, and contributes to process improvements and operational excellence initiatives.

Scope:
  • Works as a senior individual contributor with broad technical expertise and increased autonomy in executing data center operations.
  • Applies advanced judgment to assess and resolve complex technical issues, and determines appropriate methods and approaches within established guidelines.
  • Provides technical guidance and informal leadership to peers, contributes to operational decision-making, and supports continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Collaborate with or act as a mentor to less experienced team members.


Your Roles and Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for installing, moving, and decommissioning hardware including cabinets, shelves, power strips, rails, fiber/copper/other cables, servers, storage, and other devices in the data center.
  • Confirm and label devices, racks, and cables to ensure accuracy and compliance with operational standards.
  • Work within a standard ticketing system, providing clear, timely, and appropriate customer communications.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of work performed, including updates to records, diagrams, and logs, ensuring operational transparency and audit readiness.
  • Support monthly operational review activities with clients by providing required data, updates, and insights related to completed work, incidents, and operational performance.
  • Work under the direction of the Site Operations Supervisor and/or Operations Manager and follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), program policies, safety policies, and security policies while meeting quality and productivity requirements.
  • Provide technical guidance and day-to-day support to junior technicians, serving as a subject matter expert and promoting best practices.
  • Lead by example in executing operational standards, fostering collaboration, and driving a culture of safety, quality, and accountability.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and contribute to the development and implementation of operational improvement initiatives.
  • Support onboarding and training of new team members by sharing knowledge, reviewing work, and reinforcing Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Collaborate with Site Operations leadership to resolve complex technical issues, improve workflows, and enhance team efficiency.
  • Act as a technical escalation point for complex installations, troubleshooting, and operational challenges when required.

Required Qualifications/Skills:
  • General Education Degree (GED) or High school diploma and 5-8 years of related data center or technical infrastructure experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Strong hands-on experience with data center hardware installations, moves, decommissions, and troubleshooting in enterprise environments.
  • Advanced knowledge of structured cabling systems, including CAT5e/CAT6 copper and single-mode/multi-mode fiber, including proper termination, routing, and testing.
  • Strong understanding of data center infrastructure components, including servers, storage, networking equipment, racks, power distribution, and cabling topologies.
  • Working knowledge of data center best practices, including cable management, basic fault tolerance, airflow considerations, and power usage awareness.
  • Experience using copper and fiber testing tools and interpreting results for troubleshooting and validation.
  • Ability to accurately document work performed, maintain records, and contribute to operational reporting and audit requirements.
  • Experience supporting operational reporting activities, including providing input for monthly operational reviews and customer-facing updates.
  • Excellent troubleshooting skills with the ability to resolve complex technical and infrastructure issues independently or with minimal supervision.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, in English, with the ability to interact professionally with internal teams and external stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to provide technical guidance, mentor junior technicians, and act as a senior resource within a team environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to adapt to changing priorities, shifting workloads, and dynamic operational environments.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
  • Working knowledge of computer hardware, operating systems, and basic networking concepts.
  • Proficiency with standard desktop tools and applications (e.g., MS Office, MS Outlook, web-based ticketing systems).
  • Ability to quickly learn new tools, systems, and operational software platforms


Preferred Qualifications:
  • Industry certifications in data center operations, networking, or infrastructure technologies (e.g., CDCP, CDCS, CompTIA Network+, CCNA, BICSI) are highly desirable.
  • Hands-on experience with electrical, mechanical, and HVAC systems in data center or mission-critical environments.
  • Strong working knowledge of enterprise networking components and infrastructure, including switches, routers, structured cabling.
  • Experience working in large-scale or hyperscale data center environments is an advantage.
  • Familiarity with infrastructure monitoring, capacity planning, and basic data center performance metrics.
  • Exposure to ITIL-based operational environments or structured service management processes is preferred.
  • Experience supporting cross-functional teams in infrastructure, network, or operations projects.


Physical Demand & Work Environment:
  • Physically assist in moving and racking equipment.
  • Able to safely lift and move a minimum of fifty (50) pounds
  • Must have the ability to perform office-related tasks which may include prolonged sitting or standing
  • Must have the ability to move from place to place within an office environment
  • Must be able to use a computer
  • Must have the ability to communicate effectively
  • Some positions may require occasional repetitive motion or movements of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers


Salary Range
36,240.00 - 45,300.00 EUR (Annual)
  • Please note that the salary information provided herein is base pay only (gross); it does not include other forms of compensation which may or may not apply to this specific position, namely, performance-based bonuses, benefits-related payments, or other general incentives - none of which are guaranteed, may be subject to specific eligibility requirements, and are wholly within the discretion of Astreya to remit.
  • Further, the salary information noted above is a range that consists of a minimum and maximum rate of pay for this specific position. Where an applicant or employee is placed on this range will depend and be contingent on objective, documented work-related considerations like education, experience, certifications, licenses, preferred qualifications, among other factors.
