Job Title: Technician - Asset Recovery
Permanent, 39 hours a week
Location: Unit 77, Unit 77 Broomhill Rd, Tallaght, Dublin
Salary starting from 35,000 per annum
Job Purpose:
The Technician - Asset Recovery is responsible for the receipt, assessment, secure data sanitisation, refurbishment, testing and processing of end-of-life and surplus IT equipment for reuse, redeployment, resale or environmentally responsible recycling. The role ensures that all assets are processed in accordance with organisational standards, customer requirements, data protection regulations and environmental compliance obligations. The post holder maintains accurate asset records, supports inventory control activities and contributes to the efficient operation of the asset recovery facility while ensuring the highest standards of quality, security and safety are achieved.
Minimum Education & Experience required:
* QQI Level 5 - Computer Systems and Networks (5M0536) or equivalent
* Experience in PC and laptop hardware assembly and repair.
* Experience with operating system installation (Windows 10/11, possibly Linux).
* Job Duties & Responsibilities
* Knowledge of disk imaging tools (e.g., Clonezilla, MDT, Ghost, Acronis, SCCM).
* Familiarity with secure data-wiping tools and procedures.
* Understanding of basic networking (Ethernet, Wi-Fi setup, domain join).
Job Duties & Responsibilities
* Receive, inspect and catalogue incoming IT assets ensuring full traceability throughout the refurbishment lifecycle. Assess equipment and determine suitability for refurbishment, redeployment, parts harvesting, recycling or disposal.
* Perform secure data sanitisation using approved software and industry-standard methods. Verify data destruction outcomes and maintain wipe certificates and compliance records
* Rebuild and image devices using approved operating system images and deployment tools
* Install and configure operating systems, drivers, firmware updates, security patches and approved software.
Additional requirements
* Work at multiple locations, in an industrial / commercial environment, where machinery and heavy goods vehicles are operating.
As part of our recruitment process, if applicable, candidates will be required to provide a Police certificate from the countries they have resided prior coming to Ireland.*
