We are seeking an Automation / OT Consultant of 2-3 years experience, to join our team, supporting leading Life Sciences clients across Ireland and Europe.
This is a client-facing consultancy role where you will work alongside Architects lead delivery on complex automation projects, and act as a trusted advisor in the implementation, commissioning and validation of modern industrial systems.
You will play a key role in shaping high-value solutions across a variety of digitalisation initiatives, employing best practices to defined standards across projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and deployment of IT/ OT Solutions across use cases such as PLC/ SCADA, Batch, OEE, and Historian systems
  • Act as a technical lead on client engagements, ensuring high-quality delivery and alignment with requirements
  • Drive integration of automation systems across Level 2 / DCS/ MES / enterprise systems
  • Build trust and collaborate with clients to translate business needs into scalable technical solutions
  • Contribute to commercial success of customer projects
  • Mentor and support junior engineers, promoting technical excellence and reusable standards
  • Ensure compliance with GxP, Validation (CSA/ CSV), and data integrity requirements

Technical Expertise

  • Strong controls background across PLC, HMI/ SCADA/ Historian and middleware systems
  • Proven experience developing and deploying OT solutions across a variety of platforms (Rockwell, Siemens, Aveva etc)
  • Deep understanding of industrial protocols (OPC DA/UA) and system integration
  • Experience with modern OT/IT technologies, including MQTT, Kafka, or similar (desirable)
  • Strong database expertise (MS SQL Server / PostgreSQL)
  • UX focused application development approach
  • Experience integrating with MES/ DCS systems and manufacturing process technologies

Software Development Skills

  • Proficiency in Python scripting for industrial applications
  • Experience with C#, .NET, or Java development environments
  • Strong understanding of software design, code quality, and maintainability

Industry Experience

  • Proven experience within the Life Sciences / Pharma / Biotech sector
  • Strong understanding of:

    GxP environments

    Validation processes (CSV / IQ / OQ / PQ)
    Regulatory and compliance requirements

Leadership & Consultancy Skills

  • Demonstrated experience in project delivery
  • Strong communications management and client engagement skills
  • Ability to develop as a trusted advisor and influence technical decisions
  • Experience in identifying technical risk, opportunities and promoting best practices

Ways of Working

  • Experience working in Waterfall or Agile environments (Azure DevOps an advantage)
  • Comfortable in onsite, client-facing roles with strong communication and documentation skills
  • Flexibility to travel as required.

Location: Dublin/ Limerick/ Galway/ Sligo - onsite travel will be required to meet client requirements
